I'm aware it was about NPD, obviously. And no, he wasn't right since, as I ALSO pointed out, the PS4 didn't see a decline. I'd advise you to actually go look up the numbers.
This is my thought exactly. It's the same guy that claimed August NPD would show a decline for PS4 and uptick for X1 and WiiU. We saw how that turned out, the Wii dropped quite a bit and the PS4 was up, month-over-month, by 3K.
Not to say that Microsoft won't have an awesome holiday deal this year, but a broken clock is also right twice a day.
For you, perhaps. Destiny is an MMO, though, so the games really aren't comparable, in that regard.
I tend not to look at these things so black-and-white. Halo 5 releasing in late 2015 has no bearing on a late 2014 release. It will just be a new game to play.
Thankfully, everyone is not you and will make up their minds for themselves. Avatar 2 =! Destiny 2, and the analogy doesn't make much sense at all. Not to mention, everyone doesn't use reviews as a measuring stick to their enjoyment of a game.

OT: About what I'd give it right now (maybe a bit higher: 8.5/10). A tad rough around the edges, but definitely enjoyable!
Sony was fine before Xbox came along. Pretty sure they'd be fine with out them (not sure why people think Sony NEEDS Xbox). Yes competition is good, but the Xbox isn't some Godly brand that gaming needs in order to sustain itself.
As usual, some people just didn't read the fine print. Some of these responses = pure gold!
I just have a feeling you'd say no such thing if this were an X1 exclusive. In fact, I remember how much you defended Titanfall when it released. Tell me, what makes Destiny so much worse? Have you even played it? Oops, out of bubs. Never mind ;)

Errr...did you not read the fine print? PS4 multiplats are OUTSELLING their X1 counterparts. What you're suggesting is that the Xbox fanbase is buying even FEWER games, thus negating your entire post's sentiments.

Um, this isn't a full analysis of both, so the PS4's image quality STILL COULD be better. That's why it's best not to make any off the wall comments (whether for or against the PS4).

Nothing wrong with either of those titles. If anything, Sony knocked the whole year out of the ballpark with games timed just right. I know some of you love to claim how weak the year was for PS4, but if that's the case, it was just as weak for the X1 - as neither line-up really trumps the other.
Sony also has the 3rd party support to back up their 1st party stuff. As for marketing, Microsoft may have "done it best" last gen, but it's time to let the past go...
It really isn't, because there is more content to satisfy the user and Destiny has a single-player.
