So, by scarce, you mean less games than the X1, I'm guessing (or of lower quality - take your pick)? Care to back that up with something solid?
Why does it matter who fans like more? You can't measure who's more important to a brand based on that. It shows a serious lack of knowledge in regards to how this industry works.
Help us understand what relevance that would have to Sucker Punch's views of them.
@ Blaze: See the question above.
It isn't "null", because not all devs give such credit to their publishers. Beyond that, MANY non-Sony devs share the same sentiments.
OT: Which is why I can expect a stellar product this weekend!
Who exactly is bashing it because they can't play it? This is a useful read with key info. Who cares what another person thinks, though? If you enjoy it, play it. Just don't expect everyone's opinion to mirror yours (and there's absolutely nothing wrong with people who have no interest in it, so long as they are reasonable about it).
Thus far, I've not seen an abundance of hate towards the game in here.
Well, for starters, the comparison doesn't even compare the game in like-for-like scenarios. Second, it's clear that both are based off of compressed video footage, not high-res captures.
Thus, this side-by-side is pointless.
You not being impressed with a Sony game is the natural order of things. No surprise.
OT: Downgrade debunked implies that there ever was any doubt (outside of people looking for attention - ie authors passing themselves off as fair). To many of us, the game has continued to improve visually, but confirmation never hurts.
Anecdotal at best. I hear plenty about both games and have been since both were given release dates. Means nothing.
Careful now, some people hide behind words like "radical differences". Comes with the territory that some will talk down the game, but thankfully, nothing was downgraded (as most reasonable people knew, anyway) and the 21st can't come soon enough!
Looking at the grand scope of things, this is hardly reason enough to jump for joy. A year from now, if the WiiU is outpacing the PS4 still, then your reaction would make more sense.
OT: As others have mentioned, the software isn't there yet. Do we even need to wonder what will happen when titles like FFXV, KH3, and MGS release there? Hint: it'll push hardware.
To be perfectly honest, it seems like you knew exactly what you were doing, and the outcome that would accompany, when you wrote that headline. My viewpoint is only solidified in regards to how defensive YOU'VE been in here.
If you want to be treated like a professional author, be professional about it. You went on the attack because the "fanboys" when to town with the headline (and with posters like IrishGuy being someone who generally does just what he did in...
That would make sense, if I didn't get that from the vast majority of PC games I play as well, in addition to higher poly counts/res/detail and so on. This is why many buy THAT device.
Thus, you did nothing to sell the game to non-X1 owners, and in essence, gave ZERO detail.
I want you to explain why in grand detail. I don't get how the better performing/looking version is BEHIND the version without all the bells and whistles.
As I've seen it, there's only one console, thus far, between the X1 and PS4 that has offered multiple sub-1080p titles. The PS4 seems to be OK right now.
I wonder if there ever was a downgrade. Something tells me the early footage was always PC, and once the console version (PS4) was shown, it looked a bit worse (as I'd expect when having to go up against dual 680s).
I have a high-end PC, and the PS4, so I'll be checking both out for myself.
- How do you know Jack and Amy leaving is even bad news? You can't make that assumption this early.
- Layoffs happen all the time, to most companies (especially one as big as Sony), so that point is rather moot.
- Not sure where you got that the PS4 is struggling in Japan, but I'm sure you realize it would be pointless for me to even bring up the X1 and Japan in the same sentence.
- The Uncharted, multiplayer, and launch line up bit...
Nope. Unlike last gen, Sony is the dominant force in EU out of the gate, and with Japan being an easy win for the PS4, the only battleground will be the US.
Last gen, the PS3 caught up because it had more worldwide appeal. That won't happen for the X1.
In your case, one has to wonder if you'd EVER be satisfied with a PS4. ;)
OT: Not surprised. Most people who pick this thing up are absolutely in love with it (myself included)!
In the millions? No. Even Halo games don't do that. Add a potential 100-200K? Yup, I can see that.
Sure, if you don't consider a difference in res (1080p vs 720p) to be anything but "slight".
Edit: "but looking at those screens there's not much in it."
My reply was based on your words.
