You have Rez, and Ikaruga as exclusive LIVE titles. Rez came from the PS2 (and Dreamcast), and Ikaruga was ported from the Gamecube (Dreamcast and arcade). Plus Rez HD was announced to be released on PSN as well.
and the boxart shown towards end of the video was really cool, too.
you qualify yourself as a douche, who cares.
some expert you found here.
and I couldn't agree more.
I actually just got this game yesterday, and I've played some of the past PSO titles, and I've found it to be quite enjoyable, especially in its portable incarnation. Although I have to admit, what I really want is a next gen. traditional Phantasy Star, because what I love about this IP is the art direction, the blending of traditional fantasy elements with sci-fi, and its unique identity. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what SEGA wants to do with it.
it kinda has been a long time coming, you could see this downward spiral start to happen even in the printed gaming news prior to what's been happening on the internet, but it only seems so much worse now, because there are so many more sites, etc. While I don't necessarily agree with everything that comes out of Jaffe's mouth he does often iterate many things I have thought on myself, and I find it refreshing to hear coming from someone in his position.
Many of M$'s titles were in development long before their launch (game not system) as well, the point is developers leading on 360 don't want to challenge themselves and push the software they're making, they wanted something easy that can be put out relatively quickly, look how many rely on the U3 engine or some derivative of. I'm not defending Sony, I'm just saying that if M$ wants to make such statements seriously, then back them up, I would love to see developers and software on the 360 p...
they haven't thought or attempted to try to do something of this caliber by now, and they have been on the market a whole year longer, with the "much more easy to develop for" machine, I'll remain a skeptic until I see it myself.
only for what it currently dominates in, and may sway a few casual gamer/tech junkies, but as a games machine the iphone/ipod just doesn't deliver (any gamer will tell you this). I've played on the thing before, and it just screams gimmick (like Apple is just riding the wave of Nintendo, attempting to gain a piece of what the DS and Wii did with casual gamers, and their unique control schemes).
for what is shown for gaming application, or as part of a new gimmick to an upcoming console, or whatever is kind of lame. On the other hand for computing, or web surfing ala Minority Report, that is freaking amazing (that would be awesome with no keyboards or mouse/trackball/etc., just projected 3-D objects that you appear to be directly interacting with), I'm actually excited for the possibility of that. Not like Surface or other touch screen things, because you still have to physically be ...
...and other people are getting flack for ruining "game journalism", and being unprofessional, yeah...o.k.
It's just my personal opinion, and experience because I have both systems, and while I like LIVE, I've actually only paid for it once prior to the PS3 launching. Since then, I haven't ever considered getting it again, not that it is a bad service it is very good in fact, but now I can play online on the PS3, and am free to spend the money on other things I would rather have, than an annual subscription fee (which to be fair to some, is not that much, but there are other things that I prefer t...
I still even have every issue of GMR as well. I'd subscribed for about 5 years, and even used to purchase them off the shelf prior to that for a couple years. It is indeed sad to see them go out like that.
well done.
Aren't all you "journalists" getting tired of rewording the same tired article over and over again? Seriously, I think we're all tired of reading it, that's for sure. Besides, I'm pretty sure there are many gamers like me out there that just know what they like, and will be happy and content with their own choices that won't be swayed by all these retarded articles. Why do you even care who's in, what place, it's not like M$, Sony, or Nintendo are going anywhere. I would like to rea...
Forza 3 and maybe Star Ocean 4, are the only titles on this list that I would consider for the 360, as for the big name multi-plats on the list, I personally will stick with the PS3 (personal preference, nothing more).
Its one less thing for them to worry about.
A very short while at that. The city was fine, but to much of the former optional stuff was made mandatory, and the accessibility was removed. Rockstar was so focused on realism, that when their trademarked humor and flare shows up, it's what feels out of place. Sure, there was a lot technically going on with the game, and it is highly polished, but GTA is no-longer fun (it has become another me too, generic sand-box title). It's not surprising that so many copies have been traded-in already....
and @Leord, I agree it probably is cultural, and like many other cultures their own identity is very important to them. Its not like they were completely closing themselves off to outside (western) influence, just limiting how much they're exposed to.
