And ps4 is using a cooler running laptop version of a cpu. No skinny console could handle the heat of a high end desktop cpu.
""which by the way are still stuck on 6cores at 4ghz"
Because a bigger number of cores doesn't mean better. First of all, there's no games out that use 6 or more cores. Second, just look at the i7 (quad core) vastly outperforming amd 8 cores.
So obviously a faster quad core is more desireable than a slower 8 core (for now).
@TemplarDante
That's why I said "convientionally". Way to pay attention and read past the first sentence.
"The devs have never worked on a system with unified ram for CPU and GPU like"
So it may end up being another cell processing debacle, since it will be different than the pc, 720 and wii u. You made my point even more, thank you.
"High Quality" and "Korean" don't even belong in the same sentence"
Actually I enjoy TERA a lot, love that you can play that mmorpg with a controller. Additionally, Samsung TV's are made in Korea and the best imo, or at least have to be in anyone's top 3 best tv manufacture's. So there goes your whole Korean and low quality theory.
At the time it was selling millions in the 90's, it did have cutting edge graphics + the fun gameplay. Still need both.
Convientionally with gaming pc's (and with all multiplatform console games) 8gb of ddr5 will mean absolutely zero.
PC's for gaming can rarely ever can use more than 4gb of ddr3 before something else bottlenecks the process. Usually the gpu or cpu slows up long, long before the ram. Which is why any pc builder, will put the most money into graphics card and why ram isn't something you really fuss over much.
Now with all that said, we really cant pr...
MS hasn't officially announced anything. Whereas the WiiU official announcement left more questions than answers. Seems like 2 different situations to me.
Ok when your paying a premium for a game, you want both gameplay and graphics. Few would ever pay $60 for one or the other. Why bother trying to break down the percentages?
Let's use another example: would you really have a 350lb girlfriend (graphics), that has an awesome personality (gameplay)? Doubtful....
Not just shooting, pretty much every other genre. Sports, 3rd person rpgs, 2D side scrolls, etc.
"we all know how MS has been treating Rare lately"
Wow the sony fanclub sure is getting desperate to be grasping at such straws as our devs get treated better. lol I mean wow, that's a whole new level of make believe b.s. right there.
First troll on Gears article volleying for hits, look for more to follow.
No actually that not what you said at all. Dude Ill spell it out for you. it's meant to be played while not at home.
Ok see you are at home now. When you are not here, then you could use portable device. Just not here, because here is home, where your at right now--home....at home.
Since this is a portable gaming device, maybe you should be asking yourself how will you get your desktop + monitor to work while in your car or on the go in general.
By tv you mean Netflix Im assuming. Ya that was out for the xbox a good year before psn had it.
Another reason why competition is good. Sometimes you innovate, other times you play catch up. Us consumers win in the end.
@My_Name_BTW
Bragging about winning at a video game is the mark of a true champion. Wait nvm your just a dork. Go outside, get a girl, in that order. Go!
"AMD wont benefit much, reason being they wont be making much from console sales"
How do you personally know this? DO you have insider info or just making up total and complete b.s.? I'm going with the latter, since none of what the profits are were made public. Also, I do recall MS and Sony stating that their consoles are sold at a loss for the first few years, meaning they subsidize them. Duh they goes your cheap console price theory.
Presenting ...
"8 core CPU" keep in mind Intel's i7 quad core are outperforming amd 8-core pc cpu's by a wide margin currently.
The cpu & gpu are pretty disappointing laptop parts, but the ram is way sweet and so is the integration of the cpu & gpu, so optimization may end up making a huge difference.
@NItrogav
"Since the PS4′s architecture is so similar to that of a high-end PC"
The architecture of the cpu and gpu are equivalent to mid-high level laptop components. That's not even close to a high-end desktop.
Yes there's optimization in consoles and integrated cpu and gpu, and the sweet ram, so maybe what is meant is that the ps4 has the potiental to perform similar to a mid-high level pc. But the same parts, no....
Pro controllers don't work on MarioU. Pist me rite off.
No because you already got 2 other games for free when you bought your card? I got Assassine's Creed 3 and Borderlands 2 with my 670.
