they say preowned sales are threatening their profits, when it's these obscene payments for licenses like this that are really having the most impact, how many millions have they paid tiger this year? how much golf will he have actually played this year by the time comes out?
and the idea that you can only create a sports game if you use the real team and/or player names.
i'd prefer a well made game than a rushed game that features all the official teams.

"sony have yet to use these codes"
wrong, socom for the psp used em and modnation racers for psp uses em too.
they haven't used them on ps3 yet though.

but only as an option, i think it'll be a long time before pc goes download only, if it ever does.

glad to see okami in there, though not surprised, would have been a total shock not to see it there.
now i've played the thing for a bit, and i'm a little surprised by it's inclusion, it's not a bad game but there are games that would rate higher than it does that aren't on there.
but that's one person's opinion, i'd stick ffxii on my list but it wasn't on that list.
never heard of that steambot chronicles though, probably one of tho...

i can access the psn store through a pc.

and you can access the marketplace on pc.
http://marketplace.xbox.com
that's not what this article was about though, it was about ms not providing a browser because then they can't chop up bits of the internet an...

i can watch youtube videos, there's the iplayer, there are also anumber of flash game sites that work ok, not great but ok, on the browser.
youtube looks great on my 42inch hdtv, certainly better than my 19inch pc monitor.
there are a number of site that work just fine on the ps3 browser

for once i think pachter is totally on the money.
there won't be a browser on the 360 until ms can chop up the internet and make money on each and every part of it.

whether or not that's a bug, that stage looks like it's annoy the hell out of me, a long stage with god knows how many instant death opportunities, all of which mean you have to start the stage again, unless there are checkpoints, the video doesn't show any but then it's only s small section.

no mention of aplha from doa 4?
or trying to get out of that bloody spider temple in overlord 2, that has to be number 1.

seriously, watch the video, he talks loads of rubbish.
the guy asks him what steam is about and then he goes off on some ten minute monologue about the graphics card race.
they need to put him out to pasture i think, he's doing valve more harm than good these days.
the man's a walking public relations nightmare

you know what i think when i hear that thing's name.
kin' hell.
don't know about anywhere else but kin' is usually used as a contraction of f**king, maybe they ought to change the name if they ever launch this thing in the uk.

so long as they don't follow ea's example and take game modes away from preowned buyers then i agree.
rewarding new buyers is one thing, but punishing preowned buyers is going too far, if they take the next step like ea have then it will be a big issue.

they want to keep a vested interest in games after they've been sold, but only if it means they can make money off them.
they want the benefits, so how about they start showing responsibility too?
what about refunds for broken or buggy games? or just plain bad games.
what about refunds when their crappy servers go down the toilet?
they're still their games when we want to sell them on but suddenly they're all ours when something goes wrong with them...

do drm systems like ea have introduced, not constitute price fixing?
they are deliberately devaluing a buyers purchase after all.
i'm no expert but i could have sworn that sort of thing was illegal.

i've been saying this for ages, the recession couldn't kill the gaming industry but greed just might.
i tell you the moment we get a piece of shit like steam on consoles is the day i vow never to buy a new console game ever again.
if that limits me to free to play mmos, books, cinema and tv for my entertainment then that's just fine with me.
because i will never support the use of drm for disc based content.

no, unicron you don't trade in a car within a week, but if a car is a piece of shit you can get your money back, you can't do that with games.
when ea start giving refunds on their games maybe this crap will be acceptable.
because as it is, once you've bought the game the developer and publisher is no longer held to account.
they've got your money so they no longer care.

the irony of ea doing this when they probably rely on trade ins for sales of their annual roster updates is just hilarious.

5753d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

it's a joke ea doing this, with their yearly frakking updates i bet they gain more from preowned sales funding new purchases than they'll ever lose to it.
and who says they lose money over preowned sales anyway? every preowned copy that somebody buys was already bought new once, so they've got their frakking money for it.
this is just publishers getting greedy and wanting a cut of every sale of the game by the owner after they've bought it.
i thought we...
