on live will fail once people realise that even if you buy the games with this service you will never ever own them and you will be forced to pay to access them forever, or at least until onlive goes out of business.
i know sega got out of the hardware business, but that doesn't stop me playing sega rally on my saturn, because i own the hardware and games, so i don't have to keep paying somebody else so i can access my own property.
even if the service worked perfectly, the fact remains that they're still holding all your purchases hostage, pay the sub + buy the games, except you never actually get the games, they have them, and you have to keep paying them to access them, forever.
who here actually likes that idea?
if it was a flat rate and you get to play any game on the service, that would be ok, assuming it works, but to charge you separate fees for games on top, which you never actually get to ow...
if the pic in the article is anything to go on this hack would require direct access to and modification of the ps3 hardware in some way and is not just a downloadable file that lets you run homebrew or pirate software, so when sony inevitably overreact and disable a feature they should realise it won't stop it for long.
if they had some sort of indie program like ms has for the xbox then people could create software for the ps3 and not need anything like this, hell, sony let you ...
buying preowned is legal, piracy is not.
you're allowed to sell on your own property, that's not theft, copying it and selling the copies is.
a story mode in a puzzle game worked out pretty well for puzzle quest.
puzzle quest is a bloody good game.
i thought google was already the default search engine for the ps3, there's an internet search option on the xmb that uses google.
i don't think it actually featured acceleration and braking controls, it looked like a special challenge mode where the car is going fast enough to overtake the other cars and you just have to steer.
they won't look as good when the game is rendering other cars and a track and running the game at the same time.
look at any game that offers some kind of view the car mode like this and they'll render the car to a much higher quality than you'll ever see during a race.
i would have thought it was because it featured big boss, from his appearance in mgs3, where he had the codename naked snake.

i thought this new law was about making it illegal to sell adult games to children.
and not banning games altogether.
if that is the case then i would say it's a good idea, we have that law over here and it works pretty well actually, far from the end of gaming.
maybe all the kids on here don't like it because it means they might not be able to get the next halo or call of duty.
but most people agree some games just aren't suitable for children.
one possibility is using a pair of glasses that have lcd shutters.
that alternately open and close over each eye, synch that with the image on the tv, there are a few ways that could be done, either a sensor that attaches to the tv and detects a special signal in the corner of the picture that tells it which lens to block, or it could attach to the ps3 via usb and the timing comes from that.

from trying the beta the options for mods seemed kind of limited, but still people made some great mods.
now with the full game they're making absolutely amazing mods.
when i get the game i'm so downloading that prime mod.
the fable games have never lived up to molyneux's hype, but they've always been damn good games.
