Killzone 2's multiplayer is universally praised. It's easily the funnest and most addictive multiplayer fps I've played this gen. The only other multiplayer that comes close is Team Fortress. Fact.
Anyway, this is awesome. Not only have they set the standard when it comes to a quality, polished product... these new maps (particularly the train map) are the best looking DLC I've ever seen for a title!!! I can't wait!
I agree with you for the most part... I was really disappointed with the lack of streaming audio and video in my apt. In fact, today was my first time logging back into Home since the first week it launched.
HOWEVER... although I still want those features I was promised. Xi actually turns out to be a HUGE step in the right direction. It actually has me interested in Home again. I only logged on b/c I was curious after seeing articles for it pop up for the last two weeks. As it tu...
Is every post today going to be an April fools???
Yea, if this was a console version, it's definitely king... don't think it was though. Looks even better than Crysis...
They probably regret making this game... after all the r&d this game sold so horribly. I think SE made a really bad decision in switching tracks this gen. They would have sold more games this gen by releasing exclusively for the PS3, even with the smaller userbase. The YTD NPD sales were posted last week... and they've done REALLY bad. SO4 is the highest selling game so far (even tho it's been out for a shorter time) and even that sold pretty mediocre.
Due to the fact that this really wasn't that big of an announcement... it's not as if we weren't already expecting the game to come out this year. And they didn't even show the game... at least Gears 2 showed some improvements to their engine last year. Still, I think it is probably enough for most fps fans to be excited about at least.
The teaser was pretty intriguing... at first I was like WTF??? But it turned out to be pretty cool. Still, it's going to come down to the gameplay and whether or not they can further innovate their multiplayer... otherwise Killzone 2 will probably still be enough to satisfy my fps fix.
PLEASE be ZOE3!!!!!!!!!
Both versions have some pop-in... though the 360 version seems to suffer more from it than the PS3 version. The water in the 360 version is also kind of ugly... looks very pixelated.
EDIT:
And until they come out with a game instead of just an engine demo... Killzone 2 is still comfortably on top. By the time they produce a game, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 or GOWIII will have likely beat KZ2 already anyway.
Yea, both versions look freakin great, but the PS3 version is better in quite a few areas. The PS3 has better lighting, water, effects (volumetric smoke on PS3 version looks WAY better), appears to boast slightly more detail... and the 360 version just looks a little washed out.
EDIT: I kind of doubt most of them are necessarily PS3 fanboys... you can look at the vid and see for yourself. The differences are pretty obvious. I don't think anyone has claimed the 360 version looks ...
RE5 is not at the top of the heap to begin with... but I agree. Still... doesn't look much better than KZ2 yet graphically. But by the time they release finished games vs. demo trailers, it should be a different story. However, it's interesting how much better the water and volumetric smoke look on the PS3 version.
Not with a straight face! Retail 360's still don't have 1GB of memory... we can only wait and see what type of boost this will give developers... but I'm not expecting much. Especially considering Sony is likely to just turn around and do the same thing.
That was crazy!!! That's definitely the best trailer they've released for the game... and it needs to be their ad campaign too!
Yea, GG did a great job proving a great many ppl wrong with KZ2!!! I do wonder where they will take their next game... they've only done FPS titles so I'm sure it will be another, but I wonder will it be inside the KZ universe. I do hope so actually... some of the weapons & vehicles of KZ seem very interesting and I'd like to see them expand on them in the next game.
It's not that Sony did anything wrong with PSN... They should have included a headset with the system though.
I completely agree. It f'in irritates the hell out of me at how many ppl play online without an f'in mic! Resistance 2 online is probably my favorite online game right now but nobody freakin talks to co-operate in the co-op! I still like PSN better than Live for the simple fact that I spend more time playing the PS3... but the PS3 fanbase can be dissapointing.
Sales really are not an issue... MGS4 has sold more copies than A LOT of multiplat games already. And I can guarantee that when the PS3 drops in price and spikes sales... MGS4 will sell atleast another 1-2M.
More information on the iphone app is also a pretty good guess actually... didn't think about that!
Although the only announcement I'd really like to hear is a new ZOE for the PS3! That would actually become my most anticipated game on the horizon actually. I don't mind if MGS4 goes multiplat, but if he's working on ZOE, I do hope he keeps it PS3 exclusive.
Making the impossible possible... Not trying to start any flame wars, but I think this could really hint at making the MGS tech work on the 360. I've already beat the game on the PS3, and am a bigger fan of the PS3 than the 360... but I think it's a real possibility.
Actually, from people that have played Prototype... I've read/heard that it's not all that exciting. I remember them discussing it on the 1UP podcast... they said it should have come out a year ago b/c it's lost its luster.
inFamous on the other hand, everytime someone plays it... they're talking about how awesome it is.
Also, purely from what I've read... inFamous has a wider variety of abilities with the power of lightning than Prototype does with shapeshifting. ...
