Sorry, but Universal alone isn't enough to keep a format afloat. If it were a larger studio then possibly, but Sony will pocket those guys soon enough in a deal anyway. Pressure is mounting on Universal to go neutral and they are tired of Warner kicking their butt.
It's a moot point. Like the figures show, in 2007 Bluray is outselling HD over 2 to 1 and studios follow the money.
Well BS3, any game that takes up more than 1 disc for any reason has exceeded the current DVD. You may think you are the center of the universe, but a game doesn't get a pass for exceeding disc size just because you think it's two additional discs are cluttered with useless cutscene material.
When you can't depend on a single large disc, you get repetitious files (such as textures and sound files) that have to be replicated on each disc. But you also get cutscenes which are par...
Well then I have to go buy the MS Wifi receiver so I can use my 360 controller on my PC- because my 360 has suffered it's 3rd RROD and controllers do not work on a frozen 360. See how that works?
Then I have to spend money on Microsoft's greedy special Play and Charge kit instead of a Sony method that uses a USB cable I already have. See how that works?
On the 360 I have to use a Microsoft HDD which is expensive. When for less money I can get a 160GB internal dri...
Please. There are several backers for HD DVD but you can't be that blind. Do you really believe MS hasn't sunk any money into this venture?
On top of that, what is going to happen when MS has to license Bluray technology for their next console and then pay Sony for every console sold. Sorry, but strict DLC won't be ready by then. Besides customers will want a player that
1 - plays the current DVD format, which will be Bluray
It says HD DVD product. That is what movies are, products. The story is true under that respect that they will carry Bluray players, Bluray and HD DVD movies. The sales figures are getting uglier for HD DVD:
That's right, keep thinking things will stay the same and you will be eating so much crow you can't think straight. In fact, you seem to have reached that point already. Here, have some more:
"On August 28th, Paramount will ship its first high definition title to include a lossless or uncompressed soundtrack - 'Blades of Glory'. This title will feature a PCM 5.1 sound...
You should do a little more reasearch Bladestar. MS has hardly had their games ship on time. GRAW a launch title? Gears? Need more?
Yes, Sony's tools could be better. And they are moving in that direction. But development on the PS3 requires a different process and it requires developers to actually learn new programming. You would be surprised how lazy devs can be. However, once devs go that extra mile you will be rewarded like nothing else.
1 - They couldn't get their act together with security measures so every studio except Universal and Weinstein jumped ship to Bluray. It was in trouble from the get go. Here:
An insider? An insider? "Our super duper top secret source tells us...."
Expect a clarification on this shortly as I am sure Sony is going to add this to the BS Shame Kim comments and get Konami to issue a statement.
The problem is people do not know how to translate Japanese. They aren't talking about MGS4. They are talking about future MG games. Stupid gaijin reporting this info should be skewered. The problem is also morons like the guys that run Kot...
It is because people do not know how to translate Japanese. They aren't talking about MGS4. They are talking about future MG games. Stupid gaijin reporting this info should be skewered.
You know who is getting owned? You are. The best part is you are doing it for us.
They played, at a minimum, a build that was a month away from complete.
So far on the internet, previews - and that is what it is when you are not playing a gold, final copy - have all rated the game highly and had great things to say about the controls. What does that tell you? Well it tells YOU less than nothing. But to others it speaks volumes. EGM got it wrong pure and simple. Y...
So if it was a flight sim you would want to spend a lot of the game running around on the ground?
BTW, you do conduct ground combat you burn people on the ground, Ha ha. This isn't Lord of the Rings, it is Lair. You do realize what a 'lair' is, correct?
EGM is out on a huge limb here. They did not have the final build of the game for the review and the devs had stated there were changes. If the fans love it and it sells well with good player comments (from real owners not Xboxers hoping for a torpedo shot) then EGM is going to have serious egg on their faces.
I for one am an EGM subscriber AND I have Lair paid off. No way I am changing my mind for a critic. When was the last time you avoided a movie because of something Roger ...
