Wrong. I didn't ignore anything about the open world. The FOBs felt like coookie cutter Assassins Creed. Go to this area, get the FOB, unlock locations for Spartan Cores and Marines in trouble. I love HALO but this is the most anorexic HALO yet. Lack of other features such as coop is unsat. Too many chicken hawk moments in the campaign. Go fetch a power seed. And that monster plot hole that was written in with no explanation in order to provide an ending..whoosh I guess that gets a pass.
Nobody is forced to buy lootboxes. It's an option. Many people still play games and don't buy them.
The problem is developers start to build games around coercing lootboxes. The same thing will happen to titles as they cheapen what you get.

It isn't the only issue. Multiple times I have suspended the game since yesterday. I come back to start the game and 10 seconds into playing I get this popup and then when I go to the main menu it asks me to buy the Campaign. The only thing you can do is go to the main Xbox dashboard and completely quit the game from the HALO Infinite Options menu. Then restart. I start with Heroic. It isn't a perfect match to a T, but it is still the mode that considering damage taken and inflicted, is the one most on par with the novels.
The thing I am missing isn't the game per se. It's the other stuff. This will be the first HALO game I preordered and there's no remarkable fact filled guide book. Only the second I have purchased that didn't come as a Collector's or Legendary edition. Even ODST had a version with a controller. It's those things I love having when I am not actively in the game that I am missing here before launch.

This needs to be fixed if only for simple reasons such as you and a buddy laughing about what happened and you both had different experiences. Well I'm a Sony fan. Yeah I am a HALO Insider with a Series X and a One X but mainly a PlayStation gamer by far. And this is...well not sure what I can say about it. Ugly, scummy, low, anti-gamer. Pick one or something similar that shows how greedy and thoughtless this is. And let's not pretend that it isn't even worse in light of the games from other companies. Sony didn't give its gamers a single AAA title this holiday season and in the same month HALO launches they do this....

Anyone that thinks the X Series X 4K recording is great hasn't used a PS5. On PC I use Geforce Experience. It doesn't remote record when streaming to another room but on the PC itself, its great. It just lacks an editor.
The Captures from my Series X look great. That said, the entire Capture System on the Series X is an abhorrent mess.
First, you cannot capture more than 30 seconds of 4K footage without an external drive. So there is another expense.
Second, it takes 7 button presses to initiate 4K recording on the Series X. 7. Why they couldn't put it in the same menu as the rest of the capture commands is pure incompetence and crappy layout.
The Multiplayer was tested all summer. I played more flights than I can remember. The issue is what they slammed into multiplayer with no testing - the store and their profit driven progression system.
And let's not forget this is a game they were prepared to dump on the public LAST YEAR.
