Old for me is either something I've already played or something like a generation old. I'm not someone who replays games (apart from the very rare absolute best of games) and if a game came out more than 10 years ago, it's not going to meet my expectations on graphics and performance in terms of how I want to spend my gaming time. Also a game that old, I'd seriously doubt I haven't already played it if it's a game I'd actually want to play.
No. I'm really only into new AAA style action/adventure/RPGs. Like it's nice they got Guardians of the Galaxy for instance, but I played that months ago.
The vast majority of indies just aren't made in genres/styles I enjoy.
Like Sniper Elite is getting closer to the sorts of games I like, but that series itself I've always found rather bland and slow.
As someone not into old games, they're just not giving me a reason to sign back up any time soon.
In the end, if a company's strategy makes them money to make awesome games I can enjoy, I don't care what path they take. $70 games or game pass, I don't care as long as I get top quality games in genres I enjoy. I'm more than happy to pay for a great game. Having said that, Xbox is yet to make a game I care about in over a generation. I'm hoping that finally changes next year.
Looks like a game by Spiders.
Starfield won't look half as good as this.
I've been cancelled a while. I'm personally only really into new AAA gaming experiences (there are exceptions, but not many). Any of the third party AAA games Xbox gets, it gets them well after I've bought/played them and their own first party output has been abysmal.
I'm sure Xbox will get there, but it's a while off still. Even then, a big bunch of their first party stuff won't be games I'm interested in (like the vast majority of Activision ga...
PS could definitely put their games on PS+ day one, but they'd make less money, meaning to keep profit margins the same, they'd need to spend less money on making those games. I don't see how that's a good thing? Firstly, why would they want to make LESS money? Secondly, I don't want lower quality games. I'd rather keep paying for high quality ones.
Xbox has gone down this path because they need something different and enticing to gain back market sh...
I don't play my Switch for a few reasons. Firstly wince the Wii, Nintendo has kind of lost me with their games. N64 and GameCube had more of the sorts of games i was into and hard a more mature vibe. After that, Nintendo just didn't appeal to me anymore.
But besides that, I'm not into handheld gaming and when docked, you still get crappy resolutions and frame rates.
I'd like to see a Switch successor that has extra GPU power in a special d...
Not sure about that. The last COD campaign I actually enjoyed was COD WWII. I tried the Vanguard demo and thought it just felt awful to play.
This is why I would have got a PS5 and high end PC if the cost has been reasonable instead of a PS5 and Series X. Would love to play some of these games on PC instead of console.
I've never been a huge Halo fan, but gave Infinite a go. I've never understood the Halo multiplayer hype personally and I just found it really dull. Average graphics, boring weapons, the horrible hip fire of just about everything. Moved on very quickly.
I felt bad for my mate. He's a long time Halo fan who played a ridiculous amount of Halo 3 multiplayer. He thought Infinite was completely unremarkable and even with game pass, hasn't touched it again outside...
Someone else enjoying the game due to an easier difficulty option doesn't affect anyone else in the slightest. If it means more people can enjoy (and buy) the game, then great. Understand this may lock out trophies and PVP etc for those people, but I'm sure they'd welcome the trade off.
What's funny is this idea is exactly one of my fears of subscription services becoming the norm. Cut, watered down, lower quality, shorter experiences so they can be pumped out at quicker pace to try and justify keeping people subscribed to a service. I don't want any of that. I want high quality, good length games I can get stuck into and I'm happy to pay full price to get them.
Come on Xbox.... this is where you show me getting a Series X as well wasn't a waste of money. Show me some story driven action/adventure/RPGs!
I've found the difficulty fine, but if they added difficulty options, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. What do I care if some plays on 'easy' where they do more damage and take less damage? Wouldn't affect me at all and would mean some other people can enjoy the game more. Fine with me.
They'd have to do things like not allow access to PVP or make it so being invaded means you go back to taking normal damage to keep things fair, but other than...
While i'm enjoying the game, it's certainly not a 10/10 for me. I can understand that maybe being different for people who haven't played souls games before.
For me the biggest problem is the game just feels rooted in the PS3/360 era. It feels dated. You can feel the Demon's Souls DNA right to the core of the game. The combat, animations, overall clunkiness. Apart from being open world, it really hasn't progressed much past the original game. Jump and a ...
The only reason Xbox is doing day 1 games is because if they want to gain market share, they don't really have a choice. Guarantee if they thought they could get the subscriber numbers they're looking for by only bringing out first party games 6 or more months later to capitalise on direct sales, they would.
Anyone looking to put their games on game pass or PS Plus should be looking at sales first and subscription money later.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story. They way it was told was absolutely fine.
What a boring, empty world they've made.
