Sony did not overhype I:SS... if anything, Sony doesn't market hard enough. Although Sony has done better with the PS4, marketing has not been their strong suit. As opposed to MS, which creates hype through a barrage of marketing. It just didn't work out as well as they would have liked with Titanfall. I'm sure it didn't lead to as many XB1 sales as they they would have liked. Just look at current Amazon sales ranks as one example... Still, to thi...

Titanfall outsold I:SS, but I don't think that it has been as by much as people were anticipating. Plus, it seems to me that I:SS may have longer legs than Titanfall. Regardless, while Titanfall caused an uptick in XB1 sales, PS4 was also helped tremendously due to Sony starting to have inventory this month and by the release of I:SS. This offset what could have been a much bigger month for the XB1.
By the way, securing exclusive next-gen console rights to Titanfall ...
