Yeah it's anything but a slog to me. I loved the missions, side quests, game loops and the hordes! Some of the most fun I've had in an open world and they nailed the bike. I love looking for scrap and supplies too.
There's no way to convey the terror and panic you feel when you hear that music or hear the low guttural moans coming through the woods as a horde moves through the landscape!
I was at a gas station clearing a nest and suddenly a horde came down the mountain and I hid in the bushes. I shot a few with residue bolts and watched as they tore each other apart. I threw pipe bombs and Molotovs in the middle. I waited in the bushes and eventually went down and got my ears.
Let me ask how many games recently have been truly innovative? Surly fun is the main parameter?!?! That being said Days Gone does reinvent and innovate with some of its mechanics and game world.
That my friend is the main reason. I'd bet money if it was there would've been much less outrage and not getting why it's awesome.
If Xbox had game the quality of Days Gone, I've have an Xbox. I've said this t before I'll say it again, if Days Gone is bottom of the barrel, then gaming is in a great place!

It is when lots of the big players want the industry to go the subscription, streaming route because the ones who push that aren't leading the market. That speaks volumes to me because again it just shows that most gamers still want full quality AAA games.
Yeah I thought AC Origins and Odyssey looked good and they do for third party titles but Days Gone graphics are just so much better! The HDR is implemented well too but the details that are in its open world still blow me away. Just compare Uncharted 4, HZD, Bloodborne, GOW, Spider-Man and Days Gone to third party titles and it's obvious that when devs have the talent and harness the power of one machine the results are astounding!
No it shouldn't! It looks incredible and is fun as hell. Days Gone 2 should come to the PS5!
Shady, jesus I'm in the twilight zone! Again exclusives seem to be an issue now because not everyone has as many as others. How about hold companies feet to the fire and demand better.
Instead of just getting the console that again has the most variety of software, we're just gonna complain our choice of plastic doesn't.

They aren't locked away, they just have been produced and created by a company and it's studios or a company sees an install base and sees that their game would sell well there. I've been gaming for 30 years and only recently has this notion of "exclusives " become an issue. Every console has had its games that only are on that system. Yes it can be down right terrifying at times. I was hunting a deer and brought it down at a creek bed and as I was going to skin it a horde came down the bank and began eating it. I slowly backed away and just watched in horror. This is the most fun I've had in an open world since HZD. I'm just blown away by how detailed the world is.
So much this! As I get further in I'm just in awe of the world and even the story has my interest. I like the characters too because they seem like just regular people who are living in this dangerous world. Deacon is obviously a little off with all that's happened.
