Sony doesn't speak for gamers, they are doing what's in the best interest of their pockets (as they should- we pay them to make good decisions for their sustainability & innovation, so we have better experiences). That does not mean Sony makes choices for the majority of gamers.
Still don't care about cross play on most games- too many exploits on PC- currencies, packet shapers, bots, etc. Could care less. If anything it's wasted dev time & causes more costs to my games & thus increases price or decreases quality.
