wow you're definitely not biased...
No its not. FFXIII wasn't a mediocre game (in my opinion) because the 360's limitations, but because the gameplay was outdated and the story was awful. People will always excuse FFXIII because they believe the 360 limited its potential, but in reality it just wasn't a very good game to begin with.
Cause if not, then I doubt you've played it.
How is early 2012 classed as "soon"?
Loved the first one though.
I think what you have to consider is that Microsoft is hoping people buy Kinect on the basis that they already own a 360. Its not like the Wii where you have this technology straight out of the box. A number of people that Kinect would appeal to will not own a 360, so the real issue is how they can bundle Kinect with the 360 at an affordable price.
I don't think this is an issue for Europe though. We are always charged the highest prices for products but we do pay them. L...
Agreed. From a core gamers point of view, it was probably the least appealing of the big 3. However, they had to get the publicity for Kinect, and they will continue to market the hell out of it up until launch, because they know that the casual market will eat it up. Good to see someone looking at this issue objectively.
Don't think so mate. They have proved that it works, and that it appeals to the mass market. The opinions you will have heard are from whiny hardcore gamers and overall naysayers, but its the mass market that will have the final say.
They have to bring back Shenmue, they even said it was the most requested game from fans.
Sorry but although I found the overall demonstration of Kinect average, this was very cool.
The hardware innovates, but the software doesn't
Firstly, Nintendo and Sony haven't even started yet, so saying that Microsoft have already lost is absurd. Secondly, while core gamers will argue that it was a loss, it will certainly have grabbed the attention of the casual gamers out there, and there are a lot of them. I think Microsoft accomplished exactly what they wanted to.
An objective synopsis of the press conference at last.
Personally, it had its highs and lows. Despite the fact that Kinect is clearly aimed at the casual gamer, they effectively managed to demonstrate just how clever and precise the hardware is. However, the lack of new core game announcements (only that Kingdoms game if I remember correctly) was a major disappointment, especially considering the conveyor belt of announcements at last year's conference.
I would laugh if people walked out of the press conference during all that fitness stuff, only to miss out on a free xbox.
The first of many core gamer hissy fits that was expecting to see Halo and Gears games for Natal (or Kinect). Microsoft want to broaden their console's appeal, big deal. Something that this fat fuck can't understand.
Better than "Wave", which is rubbish.
Why announce the game now? Sick of games that they announce way too early. MGS4 (3 years), FFXIII (4 years), Killzone 2 (4 years), Alan Wake (5 years), fuck knows when FF Versus XIII is being released.
After all that bloody hype. Good thing I didn't get sucked in. Valve make great games - there's no doubt about that - but they can be proper wankers in their PR.
It was, up until Split Second and Blur arrived on the scene. Both game are a breath of fresh air for the racing genre.
Actually they're comparing FIFA 11 in the making with FIFA 10 in the making, because the FIFA 11 screenshots look a lot like FIFA 10.
Read Dead came out over a month ago, comparing it to a new release is completely pointless.
