I think people will change their tune when the likes of Forza and Star Wars are released.
You must be up there in the hundreds of thousands then.
Stop talking as if you already own the product. And besides, whether these lag stories are true or otherwise, the device isn't out for another 4 months or so. The E3 prototype is obviously not the finished product, so don't accuse Microsoft of anything until its finally released.
You could say the same about any of the big 3 consoles. No matter which way you look at it, if you don't own all 3 consoles then you will undoubtedly miss out on some great games. I own a 360, but I have friends with PS3s and Wiis so I dont miss out on anything.
We just got a new IP last month, its called Alan Wake. Maybe the author didn't buy it (like many other people judging from its sales), so he's got no right to complain about the lack of new IPs when there are perfectly good ones already on store shelves.
The problem with Move is that its appeal seems to emanate from the idea that controller-based games can be operated by the Move controller. However, I don't see many people dishing out the money (and its not cheap) on something that probably isn't as accurate as an analogue stick.
Kinect is focused on new experiences, call them casual or whatever, but I think its a good idea to differentiate them from the hardcore - leave those games to the traditional controller.
Didnt I read an article earlier with GAME themselves stating the exact opposite??
Good point, but the US is the strongest market in the video game industry, so if you wanted a sales advantage in any market, it would be there.
You cant honestly believe that. Franchises like Gears of War, Forza and Fable are all well proven critically and commercially. Call of Duty also has a much bigger audience on the 360 than any other platform, and we all know how successful that franchise is.
I think the PS3 is great - Heavy Rain is the best game I've played this year - but from an objective standpoint, you have to give the 360 credit where it's due.
Free online gaming doesn't mean better online gaming. Also, comparing two random exclusives (especially in a very biased manner) means nothing. If you're going to raise an argument, at least make some relevant points, rather than spew this nonsense.
These arguments are going nowhere. Both consoles have features that the other doesn't; therefore we as consumers get to choose which one suits us best, or both for the more privileged. Shame people can't get this fact though their thick fanboy skulls.
What's so desperate about giving consumers content before its rivals?
its wasn't that people were cheating on the questions, but they were able to become the one or part of the mob in every round, rather than having to work for it.
I had fun on it for a couple of nights, but it ran its course. Buzz is still the gameshow king of videogames.
The word "Kinect" is obviously a combination of "Kinetic" and "Connect", which pretty much elicits the traits of the device. How does that possibly imply that they have somehow ripped off the name of an old Eyetoy game? Seriously, the writer of this article (and some of the people that believe him) clearly live in cuckoo land, because the thought process behind this article is literally insane.
Alan Wake is an excellent game, it just wasn't long enough. Sequel please.
Also, wasn't the Saboteur released last year?
Not that it bothers me that much, but the amount of articles titled "Dis-Kinect" shows a "dis-tinct" lack of journalistic originality.
Just under 2 million in just under 2 months, impressive figures.
got any factual evidence to back these points up? didn't think so.
Simple fact is that Kinect has been grilled by gaming websites for not catering to the core gamer audience (at least not at launch), and that's all that usually gets reported on N4G. It's obviously aimed at the casual audience, of which there is a sizeable market, and Microsoft is going to do all it can to get their attention.
As for the article, you only have to look at N4G's "hottest games" and you will see that Kinect is first by nearly 4 times that o...
There's no doubting that the game is great, but it is too easy, even on the realistic setting. I guess it was a fair trade off for the amount of fun you can have with it though.
