All I know is that a lot of those shooters on that list wouldn't be any fun to play today....some of them would however, they should be higher on the list.

COD isn't a core gamers game of choice anymore, it's the pop game that easy to get into but isn't that great compared to other shooters. However, no one can't deny that COD4 was awesome.

Sometimes, we need to cut our losses when devs make bad games or with games not worth replaying. I've never sold a game I loved = make better games = pre-owned sales.

If people didn't like it, it wouldn't have sold so well for so consistently. I think if a lot of people had buyers remorse it would have been popular, then sales would have died down (like Move or Kinect). COD sales increase year after year.

Gameinformer is actually better than most. Sure, maybe companies can purchse kind words but that's better than automatically getting a luke warm preview/review if a publisher doesn't pay (IGN) or allowing fanboys to write reviews (Edge).
I really liked the majority of FF13, I even liked how it was linear as it made for a coherent story. The art design was beautiful and it is still one of the best looking console games this gen - all in 1080p too. I just hated super long and tedious boss fights which ended up turning me off the game completely. They were no fun at all.
