@Lawson72 and kraenk12

I just posted what the author said after reading the article. I have no problem with the announcement. You guys are probably right that a announcement before the actual show was a better choice.

@IraqCombatVet

Lol. Yeah. The Fallout fans are really hyped and charged up today. It is easier to inadvertently offend people when they are emotionally charged up and very passionate about something. Better stay out of their way...

The article is not actually negative. The author only says that revealing Fallout 4 at the E3 would have had much more impact than revealing it on any other random day. They would have automatically won the E3 with such a major reveal. Now they will have to work extra hard to make their E3 press conference exciting.

Thank God, someone finally understands what I am saying. Why are fans often so close-minded and defensive? Why are they unable to put themselves in someone else's shoes and look at things from their perspective? It is quite perplexing when trying to explain your point of view.

@Valenka

*facepalm* Man you are missing the point and just trying to win the argument. The point is that for someone who has never played a Fallout game, the teaser is underwhelming...

I have mostly played Japanese games throughout my life. I am an Asian and over here we did not play many western games until the start of the last gen. I ma only speakingtyping English here because of my education. I only learned out about Fallout when Fallout 3 was released as a broken mess on Playstation. Oh and FYI they do not teach about Fallout series during MBA Finance. How do you think a university education and Fallout are related?
As for JRPG graphics, yeah I am somewhat disa...

And what if the assumption is correct? Just read the comments man. Dont they give a fair idea of what group of people has what kind of opinion? Fans are the ones who are defending the graphics not the guys new to the franchise. I have read some even say that we should just be grateful that we are getting a new Fallout game no matter how it looks or plays. Many say that Bethesda/Fallout games never looked that great so there is nothing new; indicating that they have played the previous games. ...

Damn, relax man. I never claimed to speak for the author. Why are you guys getting so hyper over a game? Everybody is excited about the game and people are repeatedly saying that they have played the previous games so they value the gameplay/exploration over the graphics. Fans are the ones who are defending the graphics not the guys new to the franchise. It is common sense.

This is just a humble opinion by an "outsider" who has never played a fallout game. The game looks decent but for someone who has never played a Fallout game and just bought "next-gen" hardware, there just isnt a "WOW" or "next-gen" factor in it. Fans are willing to give the graphics a pass because they KNOW from past experience that the gameplay and open world are great. However, other people lack this perspective so the graphics are first thing that m...

Good or bad is relative my friend. Look at the sales of Wii U and Xbox One since their release. PS4 is doing miles better and that is the main thing that counts. The market has shrunk and PS4 is doing great within that scope.

When people say "reviving" they do not mean selling by truckloads in Japan. By "reviving" it means that Japanese games are being developed and released on home consoles once again instead of just handhelds. JRPGs are coming back with latest numbered games announced in the major JRPG franchises including Persona 5 and Star Ocean 5. People have been waiting for those games for upto a decade and it was only after the immense success of PS4 that they are coming.

It is all about the games, not trends. If Japanese find their favorite franchises on mobile devices then they will move over there. If they find those same games on consoles like they used to during the 90s and early 2000s then they will return to the consoles. Last gen Japanese devs found it impossible to compete with western devs given the rising costs of games development and declining popularity of Japanese games including JRPGs. As a result, they moved to the handhelds and the public fol...

Great sales for the game. We can safely say that it is a hit in Japan. A game debuting above 140K is a clear sign of success. It is quite surprising to see Japanese being more interested in a multiplayer shooter than a JRPG (XCX debuted at only 85K). How the times have changed.

Uncharted has been around since 2007 yet Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider Definitive Edition both have sold significantly more on Playstation. Besides, the original Tomb Raider series was very different. It was mostly adventure, exploration and puzzle solving with very little action. I have played the first 5 during the 90s until the series jumped the shark.

It was only after the 2013 reboot that Tomb Raider started imitating the action and shooting of Unch...

Tomb Raider is predominantly a Playstation title despite being multiplatform since its beginning similar to Final Fantasy, Tekken, Street Fighter and Resident Evil. Most of the fans of the franchise exist on that platform. SE will be alienating and angering a lot of fans if they do not release the game on its traditional platform just because somebody paid them.

Several Japanese devs learned that the hard way last gen when they signed exclusive agreements with MS and angered ...

LOL. I was looking at that scene with a O_o expression as well. How can she, especially being a scrawny girl, be able to hold on with that much solid and heavy ice falling on her head.

For a moment I thought you were saying that the Witcher 3 is A bomb (flop) and was like O_o Then looked again and got it. Lol
Pretty good performance by Splatoon though. It is a good, innocent and family oriented shooter in a world of ultra violent and politically charged shooters which either depict the Koreans, Chinese, Russian or Middle-Easterners as villains. The Wii U install base is quite low and Witcher 3 is multiplat so it is very impressive that it still almost topped the cha...

There isnt a single Nintendo game in that list. Yet their fans continue to use that digital sales excuse for every Nintendo sales flop or underperformer. Most recently, the excuse was used for XCX. How can digital sales on a console that has just 32GB FLASH storage and no unified account system be significant in any way? It is against all common sense and logic. However, Nintendo fans use ambiguity and lack of figures by Nintendo to their advantage to continue to believe what they feel is tru...

That is really low. Yeah, the Vita is in a pretty bad situation but no need to act like a bully troll who likes to kick someone lying on the ground. Just the let the people who love their Vitas enjoy them without the harassment. People have different tastes and some obviously prefer the Vita over 3DS. Personally, I have a 3DS XL and do not prefer the Vita over it but I do not bash it either.

@Lev1903

No, I have been around here for about 10 years. Andrew House's comment was not from an interview. It was a comment lifted out of context from an investor relations meeting. He was just being honest to the investors but the gaming media has used that phrase to generate tonnes of clickbait articles full of spin, lies and misinterpretation. One article even claimed that PS4 was in its THIRD year of lifespan and only had one worthwhile exclusive (Bloodborne), which i...

Playstation fans do appreciate positive, honest and constructive criticism. You just have be careful with your words when criticizing. The same is true in real life where harsh and nonconstructive criticism always leads to a strong backlash rendering the criticism ineffective.

On topic, in response to the author, I do not think 1 month of NPD victory by Xbox One means a red alert for Sony. If it does then what does several months of NPD and wor...

Microsoft did too much damage to the Xbox brand with its initial vision for it. It was only after the public outrage, Don Mattrick's departure, losing in sales and Phil Spencer's appointment that Xbox regained consumer confidence. However, by that time PS4 had gained considerable advantage which it continues to maintain.

Fortunately, under Phil Spencer's leadership Xbox has regained significant momentum. He is a great person who is honest and sincere and understan...
