@chukamachine

I completely agree with you on the TV aspect. I read a few months ago that SOny's TV line consists of 31 different models..WTF!!

It is just too many and confuses the consumer. Apple has just one iphone and one ipad with different HDD specifications and it is a model that has aided their growth because it is easier for the consumer to choose one that serves their needs.

A 3 spec model like you mentioned would be the best. Put...

I taught I heard people saying that Sonys gaming division was profitabl because according to this reports, the gaming division lost $45 million this quarter. Or are they now back to loosing money again?

Pirelli said best. "Power is nothing without control".

XBLA iis one area in gaming that you should not care about reviews at all because you can always try them out before you buy them.

So offering a $99 subscription model for the 360 is the samething as a $99 dollar 360? lol. You know that in the long run, the consumer ends up paying more (approximately 15%) than if they bought it outright.

As for all this talk. We heard it with the PS3 past 4-5 price drops, PS3 slim, MGS4 (aka judgement day of the 360), PS3 slim, GT5, FF13 blah blah blah and yet it is still behind life time sales of the 360.

As i said before, a price cut will increase sale...

Getting a sense of deja vu. Ohh..i get it now. These are the same type of articles that sprung up when Sony announced the PS3 slim.

I can't stand articles like this because they are so one dimensional and assume that Microsoft has absolutely no way to respond.

Microsoft has not cut the price of the 360 since 2009. they are making a killing on the hardware and if they want, they can slash a good $70-$100 of the hardware and either still make a small profit...

If you don't like it then don't buy it.

Dust an Elysian Tale was actually at E3 and was playable. They just did not cover it in their press conference.

Gamespot did a very long video interview on it. Dust was the winner of Microsoft Dream build play competition in 2009. It has takin this long to see production because the game is hand painted.

Looks awesome.

Did not buy the game but a few of my friends on xbl are enjoying the game. I am waiting for Deadlight and Dust: An ELysian Tale.

So according to you, out of the big three, the company with the most profitable gaming division is the one least likely to stick around.

LOL

I did not see your comment before posting but i completely agree with you. I don't see why they can not work together on a select few games.

I think it would be the best thing for the franchise. Microsoft obviously don't know what to do with Rare's back catalog of amazing intellectual properties maybe, the best thing is to give it to someone that could make good use of it.

Maybe they could work on it together and see a release for Xbox 360 with smartglass, Wii and 3DS.

5050d ago 4 agree7 disagreeView comment

That is not true. The Xbox 360 was announced at a special MTV show organised by microsoft a few days before E3 2005 and was released fall the same year.

What an ignorant parent. Forget the charges, he just admitted to allowing his 12years old son to play Call of Duty. Games which clearly are M.

I have no problem with Metacritic but I will never base my buying decision on it. I buy games that the concept appeals to me regardless of the score. I enjoyed Too Human and absolutely adored Lost Odyssey and yet reviewers panned them. N the other hand, I did not like GTA4 and Fallout 3 even though they have high scores.

I love the Halo Universe and the story. I have bought every Halo game and enjoyed it. Some don't like Halo:ODST but I loved it. The story was great, you really did feel like a rookie and the soundtrack was amazing.

Halo is the only FPS I buy without question. The rest I really don't enjoy. Can't wait for Master Chiefs return in Halo 4.

That is such a ridiculous statement to make. If that is the case, can you tell me why the original Shenmue on Dreamcast is till this day one of the most expensive games ever made with a dev cost of over $70 million? That is more than the dev cost of all Gears of war games combined.

5059d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I completely agree with you. 2-3 years is ridiculous for a console life cycle. I believe 5-6 years is the sweet spot like we have had with previous gen. An extra year to make it 7 would be acceptable.

If this is true, then it just verifies what that analyst said about Sony being behing Microsoft interms of cloud gaming.

Sony buying Gaikai makes it possible for them to offer a cloud gaming service integrated into the PS4 the day it goes on sale instead of building one from scratch which would take years and may not be well integrated.

Guess we will know better by E3 2013.

I read the article and i mostly agree with what they say. On my own part, i have stopped buying gmaes because there is no longer any innovation i see in the gaming industry. Everything just looks and plays the same. And while some might say it is the developers fault and they may not be wrong, but limited hardware plays a BIG difference.

Imagine if we were still stuck in the PS2/Xbox era. There is not a chance in hell that we would have seen games like Gears of War, Mass Effe...
