About Europe:
It's split into many different countries with their own laws and policies or whatever. This makes it very complicated to have a worldwide launch at all. So yes, be happy Europe is getting PS4 at launch, they got screwed with the PS3 launch and be glad history didn't repeat itself.

It's all about promotion. That's it. The Coca Cola partnership should have made it obvious.
It's called marketing, or if you want to get technical, cross-promotion. Coca Cola promotes Playstation and Playstation promotes Coca Cola. It's business 101. Expect much more "selling out" from Sony and Microsoft this coming gen. The install bases on iOS/Android platforms are too big to ignore. They are a great for promoting your products.

This isn't true. Sony has said that they always aimed for that $399 price. Affordable yet state-of-the-art.

It doesn't work like that and you know. If you don't like it then move to America. All electronics are priced this way so you should already be used to it. Be lucky you get them at all considering how divided Europe is.

Final Fantasy VII is amazing. I played it through an emulator on PC though.

Because stupid people thought Microsoft would allow cheap games or fire sales on Xbox One to make up for the DRM. It was never going to happen. The DRM was there to screw consumers, not benefit them.
If only Vita firmware updates were this feature-packed...

PS4 will play PS1 games. It might not be there at launch but an x86 based emulator will be fairly easy to put together. There are already free ones on out in the net. PS2 should be possible as well if Sony wanted to offer PS2 games via PSN.
Actually the bankrupt thing had much more to do with its TV business. People seem to forget Sony makes more than just Playstations.
