My smartphone works just fine without an internet/4G connection. You see, there are apps that can you know, work offline. There are kids that have limited access to the internet, if any. There are privacy and security issues with a device always been on.

The hate is completely justified. Microsoft fucked up, they tried to screw gamers over and now they're seeing the consequences and having your console $100 more expensive while being significantly weaker is a pretty big deal in the core community.
People didn't forget about the RROD thing either. I think people just put up with that because they had to. Now they don't. People have a more powerful, more affordable console as an alternative choice.

I don't think these Sony CEOs are lame enough to have a roundtable discussion about a controller. It's ridiculous. A simple 2-3 minute video explaning the new features would be enough. No need to have an annoying PR person hype up your product. It's not believable. Major Nelson doesn't come off as a real gamer, he comes off as fake.
The analog sticks are in the wrong place. Controllers are supposed to be symmetrical. It works wonders for muscle memory and accessibility.
