For me: A fully 3D version of Little Big Planet, Wipeout (from Liverpool/Evolution) a Naughty Dog game, something by Guerilla & Sucker Punch. Lastly, Last Guardian & a sequel to Siren.
Whenever someone says the type of game they're making is the future, I think they're an asshole. A game, that is on a server that can be turned off at will is not part of my future.
Nintendo are a great software company, but with the WiiU they are being cheap & it shows. Poor resolution on the tablet, terrible specs (nevermind graphics, no ethernet port!) & the online side is a mess. Nintendo have brought this mess on themselves.
I'm not attacking you, but you're wrong on a number of counts. Firstly, controllers are massive money makers for console companies, If European/Chinese companies can make tablets that cost £50(around $75) & make a profit with RAM, CPU, higher resolution etc, then it's definitely not costing Nintendo more than £30 ($45) to make.
Secondly, it may have slightly better specs than the older consoles, but newer, higher spec chips are probably just as much ...
The WiiU is far far too expensive, there is no way Nintendo is making a loss with those specs & a cheap low resolution resistive tablet controller added on. It needs to be 199 pounds to make significant inroads in the UK.
I try & play as many platforms as possible, I love games, not the console they're on!
Where did you find Far Cry 3 for 10 pounds/$15?!?
I'm not sure why Microsoft are focusing on Kinect so much, it sold a lot of units, but software sales were terrible. It's difficult to sell snake oil twice. I think it's very risky if Kinect 2 is their big draw.
Bayonetta had the deepest combat out in the genre (along with Ninja Gaiden Sigma), think this should definitely mirror that.
I would take this with a large pinch of salt, they do this all the time: They have Dark Souls 2 as out on the April 12th for example.
It really should have been on the Playstation 3/Xbox 360/Vita or DS/3DS. Square Enix have probably made the worst business decisions out of all the video game companies this generation.
There's no need to choose, people should/do have access to both! It's a non argument. It's DRM which is the real issue.
Platinum Games/Clover have consistently made brilliant games for about 12 years now. Metal Gear Rising seems like a new high, going off the demo.
He's right. The outlay is incredibly expensive for companies, there's lag, & a reliance on networks. If used for demos (& in Sony's case, Vita cloud versions) it's fine but it's definitely not the future of gaming (unless you fundamentally change the nature of physics!)
They've gone from " consoles are dying" to " might stop", seems their F2P games are not as successful as they thought they would be.
Even they wouldn't benefit, people normally trade in to buy new ones.
As it's an MMO, I assume not. Sure it will do well.
Downloaded the demo, not buying the game. Came across as a poor mix of Gears, Uncharted & Lost Planet. Micro transactions are the icing on the cake. If a company puts micro transactions in a game, they design the mechanics around them. As a consumer, I'm not supporting that.
This is what Resident Evil 6 should have been like. With this, Sly Cooper 4, Metal Gear Rising & BioShock Infinite in the first few months of 2013, it could be the strongest year in gaming this generation.
You actually go to the point of sale, which would be Gamespot in your case. Sega wasn't lying about that!
