they won't be charging you 50$ a month for nothing... while for a mobile phone you will anyway want to have a data plan, for a console you will want to buy games.
what if the subscription grants you a free game download a month. yeah you're still paying 1200$ over 2 years, you will have spent less on games
yep. if they sell you the console for 150$ less because of a subscription, they are having a bigger loss upfront and will want to make more money overall to compensate. they would have to find a was to make a more expensive subscription.
while I don't think it'll be free, it would be nice to get it cheaper with a ps+ subscription. I mean, I'm going to subscribe anyway, so it would be nice to have the price off the console cut, basically, for nothing.
and if they can make an interesting gaikai subscription (something like games unlimited) I would subscribe to that to.
doesn't gamestop have a backup plan? they've been downsizing/losing money for a while now. they can't be just planning on continuing this route until they disappear?
I thought about this to.
I wouldn't mind gaikai instead of the PS4, both are great for gamers.
I'm also pretty sure the PS4 will include gaikai, so they can also announce what they'll be doing with both.
it's killing me to, but I still kinda hope there won't be too many leaks to spoil the surprise.
I wonder if it means the PS4 is coming out sensibly earlier than the next xbox.
can anyone remember the last time there was a generation switch, if the cross-generation games were better on the xbox or the 360? I heard some games were quite different despite the title being the same.
yeah I'm surprised to see how low the heat is on this. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the terrible title though, pretty generic and no mention of DC comics...it sounds like an obscure pc top down RPG.
I'm not so sure about the storyline though... the cinematics have nothing to do with the gameplay at all, I don't really like the disparity.
I don't know how MM do it, but all their trailers have music that I'de normally never listen to, and they make me love it!
I don't think many games have ever made me feel this badass while maintaining challenge. Vanquish came close I'de say. That's why sometimes I play games on easy just to feel overpowered.
I'm pretty sure that, in the game, on normal mode, players would die really quickly if they were surrounded by that many aliens. and standing in front of the "walker" to shoot at it is surely impossible.
agreed, I think we'll eventually get there. Sony looks to be going in the right direction, with cross buy, and you can easily imagine it extending to gaikai.
valve gave out portal 2, because it attracted new steam users, for a relatively low cost. Valve's income mainly comes from steam, their games are just there to get people on steam.
Valve are very smart, and understand how consumer oriented business works, they aren't jesus in the form of a company.
isn't FF6 or 4 the hipster FF? 7 seems like the go to response.
My theory is just that your appreciation of FFs depend on where you were in your life when they came out. For me FFX came out just when I was still a kid but my parents didn't monitor my play-time anymore, so I just have memories of playing it non-stop back to back and I had friends playing the game at the same time. I didn't have the same experience with other (arguably better) games
I've always said this, CoD menus are really good. Not only are they easy to navigate, but the time between launch and being in a game is at least twice as short as any other game I've played (pc or console)
actually, the mp seems quite interesting compared to the one of crysis 2. It has some cool modes. but this was just deathmatch so I guess it's nothing special.
From what I've seen the cryengine 3 seems to be above the other engines, but I'm not a graphics enthusiast, so I'm not sure.
that's a pretty unorthodox list. it's rare to not see 7 and 6 or the top 3.
mine would go more like:
10
8
7
9
4
6
12
and then I'm not passionnate enough to rate the others(most of which I didn't play/beat)
it wasn't crytek who sold him the hardware as far as I know, and it's the beta, not everything will work
if your debate was based on "pwning" people, I don't think you were doing it right
thanks, I'm always trying to improve my english, it's my second language.
on topic:
We can all play what we want, but you can't ignore that a lot of ressources of talented developers are going into shooters you're never going to play because there are far better ones out there. I'de like those ressources to be reallocated to original games.
EDIT: is that really the rule for less/fewer? seems weird.
n4g HATES subscriptions haha. So much so, it doesn't even want the option to be available.
Nice thinking there, Darth. It's hard to think of a way to treat people who wouldn't pay without it being anti-consumer. The best way would be that every time you connect the console it unlocks until the end of the month, but they would have to be pretty confident the PS4 is unhackable. Blocking the whole console for not paying is also a bit harsh...
