Wow.
The Wii isn't starting to grow up. Its just the shifting of resources from third parties is starting to come to fruition. The talking point of Wii being a kiddy system to begin with is nonsensical. Quality games take time to create, simple as that. No one expected the Wii to be the sales beast it is, but now that the userbase is becoming too large to ignore, you are seeing the support come in droves. Iwata has even stated as such, and being the President of Nintendo, he must have tangible rea...
Everyone always points to goldeneye as the bond game, and ask why can't other bond games do what goldeneye did. The funny thing is, it wasn't the Bond license it was the game. As you said it was simple to play but had depth and most importantly was fun. Goldeneye was revolutionary for console FPS' and Product, my friend, I'm telling you I had that same sense of "wow, that's cool" playing The Conduit. I'm no expert on the game, heck 10 minutes doesn't tell you too much, but first imp...
Exagerated talk about no Hardcore Wii games, its PR spin, no one has even beeen able to come to a concensus on what constitutes "casual," "core" or "Hardcore", I don't buy into any of that tbh. All I know is the argument that Wii doesn't have good games has died several times over. It continues to resonate with fanboys but that dog simply won't hunt anymore.
you can see the constant goal posts moving, and talking points and spins that just won't w...
A few factors, economy definitely the huge culprit, but also HD dev costs jump so high so fast. Many were just going along for the ride and landed in a ditch.
I'm not the only one who caught the slight flame of the PS3 in that interview. lol
One of the most intelligent posts I've read on this site. I second Products call for bubbles.
I don't understand why people are having such a hard time understanding what this guy was saying. I also can't fathom how so called hardcore gamers (ps360 fanboys not ps360 fans there is a difference)don't see the problem of diminishing returns on big budget HD games is the culprit of massive layoffs in the gaming industry and companies going belly up.
That a system supposedly slupping in Japan, it is still outselling its competitors combined...What does that mean for the other consoles?
The top 10 in America is complete and utter domination. Only non Wii game on the list is Mario Kart DS.
Can dream can't he?
I'm gonna try and get to the Convention tomorrow, if I get some hands on time with the game I'l definitely let you guys know.
Capcom can suck an egg for all I care. They want to continually use "tests" like UC that sold well over a million, to RE4 a two yr old part that sold even better than UC. I mean what? Now they wanna dump this seemingly crappy game on the system and use THAT as proof that mature games don't sell on Wii? gimme a break you jackasses. But hey it's cool, there are consequences for ignoring the market leader, they are seeing that right now actually. 95% of their profits down from just a y...
And again, I wasn't speaking about the game's quality in anyway. More so the idea that with what Capcom has seemingly done with DR, if that's the approach EA wants to go, they won't have a customer in me, and hence maybe have a Wii flop on their hands lol. With all due respect, quality is subjective for the mnost part. Wii sports to some may be of higher quality than MGS in some peoples minds, and then some people who make such arguments can look at the metacritic scores for both games, where...
I'm with Truth, I feel sega is going to be one of the few major companies able to weather this storm thanks to the Wii.
HD flop in the sense that even EA has said it failed to reach expectations as well as failing to pull in any profit. See when dev costs are high the game has to sell alot more to be profitable. Would you rather me say "relative flop"? It is all semantics. It has already been shown that Wii games are 1/3 to 1/4 the cost of HD games, therefore less sales are needed for the break even point and profit (which incidentally is what these gaming companies primary objective is).

I love how everyone is harping on something as trivial as minor frame rate drops. I mean how long was it for the PS3 to have a madden run in 60fps. Hell how many games run 60fps on either HD console. Give it a break, the bottomline is the game looks dope and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Enough, I remember hearing these same things spoken of the DS as well. once the 3rd year hit it was like the floodgates were let open. I'm still baffled how this whole shovelware argument being bad for gaming still has legs. Every market leading console has had crap on the system, it comes with the territory.
Skeptical but optimistic. It really depends on how EA delivers, if they just intend ot try and recoup $$ from the HD flop by providing a half assed port, then no thank you.
if on the other hand, they intend to provide Wii owners with an original, alternative experience that is intuitive and polished than I will be all over the game.
Good luck, I mean Ubisoft said the same thing about rivaling Nintendo. It is easy to say but hard to back up if you don't invest the time and effort nintendo does. Few companies if any actually do.
Think the whole "hardcore" "casual" debate is null. But as Sidar said, and as I have reiterated time and time again. Wii is the console version of the DS. In many ways it has received stronger support as well (first party that is) in a similar time frame. It is also tracking better than the DS (which incidentally is tracking higher than the PS2)
Nobody saw the rise of the Wii coming. Third parties continually dumped crap on the system (not Nintendo) while in...
