It is really actually just getting stupid at this point. The reveal had me so hyped, but now they just clise up and answer none of the questions we have. Why even reveal it then?
I went from excited to almost completely uninsterested.
Definitely not. Yes they are releasing too much if they were individual products. But PSVR is an extension of the hardware, whereas PS4 pro is the console hardware that benefits PSVR most.
Seems pretty obvious to me that Sony didn't want to release their VR solution and not have ANY scalability. Smart IMO.
So if it had the same system AS-IS except no option to pay, only the option to earn (which is there now to be clear) would that really make a difference to you?
This narrative is getting stale. The reality is:
-This allows them to give access to ALL players who bought the game ALL the maps (including future DLC) at no cost in all social modes, keeping the player base from spliiting.
-You can earn them by.... PLAYING THE GAME
-They are cosmetic only perks. (ie. Character model, weapon skin, emblem)
You know what the solution for the people whining is? Dom't buy anything and simply EARN them by playing ...
I'll admit it, I was wrong about it. I still think PSVR is no where near being what I want from VR, but it is however the lowest cost, most comfortable, best supported (most 1st party devs, and sony actively hunting down EVERYONE worth hunting down for content) and on the best social platform, PSN, of the choices so far.
So while not perfect, in fact far from it, it went extraordinarily beyond my expectations and is simply just pure fun.
Not a RIGS f...
Eh, no matter how you slice it, I would prefer free dlc maps (10+ maps and new modes/playlist) that keeps the community from being fractured.
You do realize the MTs are cosmetic only AND can be earned by .... PLAYING THE GAME.
I don't get it. COD does the same thing plus charges $50 for a few extra maps.
Gears 4 has free dlc and the microtransactions are cosmetic only.
Not had any tracking issues either. Other than job simulator sometimes showing "out of play area" at times when it shouldn't, but it seems to be an issue with the games software, not the headset itself.
I've not seen a resolution issue with the actual screen. Almost exclusively, the issue has been that the games have no aliasing applied and seem to be sub 1080.
Yea, I don't get sick on rollercoasters, cars, boats, etc either, so while I can definitely say it has 0 effect on me, but cannot say "most people" won't.
My wife says it makes her feel light-headed, but that is almost exclusively AFTER taking it off, not while playing. She gets car sick and water sick pretty easily, so I would say it is safe to assume if she can play it without issue, I feel it should be safe for "most." I just hate assuming.
I actually am more happy with it than my PS4 purchase. It is comfortable, fun, well supported with SO many games coming, stable, scalable and even outputs to the tv so friends and family can watch while waiting to play.
All-around excellence. I am still extremely skeptical about VR becoming a great platform in general, but as the field stands Sony is so far ahead, it is bonkers. No clue how they pulled of the price, quality, game support and even did it on such a weak piece...
Of any of the current VR, PSVR is BY FAR the best value proposition and frankly the one that I feel will have the games worth playing. Sony is not new to creating and finding games that define generations.
High confidence in the creator and the lowest market cost = no brainer. The sales show that seems to be a pretty unanimous decision.
And this is just based on launch software, first gen hardware (PS4 pro coming) and before Sony has even gone all in on ...
I'm not because I have no stake in the game. I don't get all this incessant fanboy whining about sales and resolution this gen. The reality is, I just hope I like the game, nothing more. All evidence leads me to believe it will be no ICO level game, but we'll see. If I enjoy the game then sales, reviews or any other measure unrelated to my enjoyment of the game are irrelevant. People just love to make a big stink out of nothing.
I honestly don't see how this...
I feel like this article was pushed through just so Sony fanboys could whine about it. It only got 3 votes, out of 10 needed, yet here it is, full of people making hypocritical arguments. Complaining about the title claiming xbox one is better (opinion) but then making the same claim about PS4. (Also an opinion)
ie:
"Total clickbait, PS4 is actually better"
"Xbox isn't even part of the conversation anymore"
What a...
What spin? That some devs rightly will choose to beef up their game to the max rather than go with 4k without reason??
He didn't say that 4k is impossible or that the machine cannot handle it, just that it is not and should not be a requirement or the only use of those resources.
This is the most moronic article I have ever seen. The game hasn't even released yet... 9/27/16. This glitch was found on 9/22/16, still pre-release. All indications say it is fixed already, but still at most this game is still in pre-release version for ultimate copy owners ONLY. (Just released today 9/23/16) Day one patch is still tuesday most likely.
It takes a special kind of bias to start complaining about minor bugs in a prelaunch version of the game...
What doesn't add up, Didn't MS project scorpio not only get shown 3 months earlier than neo, but also leaked at the same time as "PS4K?" Before even PS neo was leaked with specs.
I don't get what he is saying about the 'new and different" xbox direction. A mid-gen console 4x as powerful and likely at sub $500, backward compatible with 360 (at least ones supported so far) and xbox one games and possibly VR support sounds "different" ...
This is a freaking pretty game even on the current hardware. Really excited for this game. Hope it lives up to the hype, but it is going to be hard.
I normally hate battlefield, but this game was non-stop fun. Love the weapons, the atmosphere and just about everything about it is better than any of the previous games for me.
@uptown
IN RESPONSE TO YOUR COMMENT:
I specifically recall you personally whining about not all games being the same resolution on xbox one as PS4. Pretty hypocritical to flop 180 now, no?
IN RESPONSE TO THE ARTICLE:
As for the statements, they are absolutely and verifiably true given what MS has claimed scorpio will provide. As for the VR side of things, more power =/= better VR as Sony has shown with PSVR.
EDIT: I am not sayin...
