I went through my teenage years with PEAK bioware. That was an incredible time for RPGs. I put most of the blame on EA... but the studio just isn't what it used be regardless. So much of the soul was two M.D.s (thee in the beginning) making the games they wanted to play. There was always a talented team, but the direction was given by a couple of nerds that had a specific vision.
Botw was good. Would have liked even a little more of the series tropes. Side questing felt empty. The rewards were just shrine locations or crafting items. Both very useful to be sure. But still, it would have been nice to get some unique tools... hell, even just an empty bottle. Something.
I'm still having fun. Its a shit show of a release... and "apologies...." I still enjoy it, though. Hope there are lessons learned.
I agree, but that is still just an opinion. I got the game at just the right time. There is a thick layer of formative year nostalgia coloring my opinion. I have played it very recently and, to me, it definitely holds up. That being said, there are definitely "better" games. 23 years of progress in the industry. How can there not be?
So many games use it. It always screws up performance. Usually gets crack within a month. They don't care, though. The publishers only really care about the initial weeks. That peak sales window.

Their treatment of their workers when the pandemic broke out is enough steer me clear of them regardless of any restructuring.

I would like to play ocarina and majora in their original form. They changed too much in Majora 3d. Ocarina was fine.

Selling multi thousand dollar ships for a game in alpha. Then saying they are doing everyone a solid by NOT showing game footage. It may or may not be a "SCAM," but it is definitely greasey.

I'm loving it. It is a buggy, broken mess for sure.... but it is MY buggy, broken mess. I hope the dev team doesn't get thrown under the bus on their next game because you can see the love they poured into cyberpunk. Management screwed the team and THAT is NOT ok.
Agreed. I love the game. My game of the last few years. But im not deluded enough to say they didn't royally fuck the release and their goodwill. Im lucky enough to have a stable experience, but that is only because I have a strong pc. Console players, and pc players less powerful hardware, got totally screwed. I really, really feel sorry for the dev team. They get to eat a juicy shit sandwhich because of the piss poor decisions made by their management. Too bad because you can really see...
I have no faith. I am fundamentally apposed to the selling of multi- thousand dollar ships for a game that is nowhere near finished (or at all, especially when they have racked up hundreds of MILLIONS of dollars from crowd funding).
Thing about entertainment is you don't have to engage with it. They wanted to make a game full of boobs, that is their prerogative. Don't play it. The preview material spelled out what kind of content would be in this game. It is accurate to the source material. Besides, look at the way kids are dressing. This is what the future will look like. Better get used to it.

I highly recommend this game to pretty much any action fan. Best implementation of raytracing I've seen.
