@ NioRide - so what real life racers has iRacing created? Not endorsing it but actually nurtured and put out there??
GT6 is looking extremely polished! The lighting is excellent and a noticeable improvement from GT5. The handling and tyre models are very good too. You can feel a tyre lose grip and then regain it as you lighten up on your lead foot! I can't wait for the final game release!
I'm still waiting for the claim where games purchased and downloaded online would give players significant savings since packaging and distribution fees would be eliminated. We still get charged full price! LOL!
If the industry fails then it deserved to and something better will be born out of it's ashes. The belief that we have to bail out (pay the same money for less goods - as in no right to resale since we don't own it) is completely wrong! Plus remember thes...
I hope they launch PS4 with KZ4, uncharted 4, Gran Turismo 6 and a new Metal Gear Solid. That would guarantee a sell out success into next year!
I sincerely hope it is for the PS4. I for one, am ready to buy a new 'next-gen' console. We need better physics, AI and graphics for the next step in improved gaming experiences.
I'm now older and with less time to play games which means im very selective. I have no patience for games that turn things into chores or games thatblack imagination. COD is going down a boring path of let's make the same game and treat our players like 5 year olds. The first Modern warfare gave us some feeling of control and intrigue yet with each sequel they dumbed it down further. I loved BF3 and disliked cod mw3. I like GT5 for its realism that lets me compare cars, basically let...
I actually don't mind it being multi-platform as long as the game is maximized for best performance on each platform and NOT built to the lowest performance common denominator as has been done this generation.
I'm wondering if those graphics look more like an early 'next-gen' game or the final peak of the current generation of consoles. The more I think of it the more I believe it looks too good....like it will need a PS4 to look like that. Anyway, graphic nitpicking aside, it looks like it's going to be a brilliant game! I usually don't like 'zombie' type games but this one looks very promising plus they made it feel tense in broad daylight with colorful vegetation. ...
By the time Soap got injured again, I was wondering what was going on. We started the game saving his life and here we are again.....then he died. I was wondering what type of Special force tough guy he was...always needing rescuing. The real tough nut of the game is Captain Price!
Lol! Just what I thought when I played each one! I kept wondering who came up with this as their plausible story.
I agree the story was better in MW3 but it was poorly executed. They could have handled it better rather than rushing, sorry, pushing the player at warp speed through it. On the other hand BF3 handled much better the little story they had. It had more depth to it with a cool usual suspects-ish ending as all the pieces came together. Don't get me wrong it was no Uncharted but I actually felt to be more involved. Especially cool were the missions with the Russian special forces trio.
To be honest, anyone who loves Uncharted 3 (from the single player campaign point of view) will most likely love Uncharted 1 & 2.
I think the plot and design was better in BF3 than MW3 but to each his/her own.
MW3 was waaay too out there, plotwise, especially when you consider how MW2 started that plot out and basically handed it to MW3 to wrap up. If the plot was stretched over 2 more games then maybe it would do it some justice as they would have fleshed it out properly but as it was now, it was too rushed! I kept feeling rushed with no time to take in the different missions.
I don't understand why people slam the single player campaign. I nearly didn't buy BF3 because of reviews like this, especially since I buy games primarily for the single player campaign as I don't have enough time to devote to online matches.
I was surprised and impressed by the quality of the single player campaign and actually found it to be a better experience than its current competitors. What mainly pushed it up was the far superior sound of gunfire, weapons...
The sound is far, far better in Battlefield 3. It gives us more immersion, including weight to the different guns. I have both and prefer BF3 single player campaign more.
I also felt the part in Resistance 3 where he reaches New York and drinks as he gathers his strength to do what he believes will be a one way mission, was emotional. I chocked up a bit on that part.
Spoiler:
I also found the part in Battlefield 3 where the team leader of the Russian special force soldiers trying to stop the Paris nuke, gets killed, emotional. Suddenly the other two junior teammates were on their own and even worse they failed to stop the nuke. The musical score and sound effects in that gam were awesome! Many moments felt like you were playing a video game version of Heat ( the movie a for you young ones :-) ).
Bought the DLC too! The Spa track is worth every penny!! I'm ready to buy more DLC and they can't release it soon enough!!!
I finished MW3 today and went back to Battlefield 3 and..... Wow what a difference! BF3 definitely has better sound, better lighting and damage engine and the fighting gets tense. The story, while in flashback so far is better too. I actually felt the tension in the scene where (spoiler alert!!!) ...... one of the three russians hunting down the nuke was killed by a projectile from an explosion.
MW3 was more like you are along for the ride. By that I mean they didn't try...
@NioRide
Point taken, though the approach is different as iRacing let's you interact with the professional race drivers while GT has a program that specifically focuses on creating Race car drivers. Both have their merits.
By the way, that was a nice story on the link and one of those rare ones that makes humanity look better.
