Now see what you've done, you've made me feel bad for calling you out. I'd scold a boy but not a grown man, which you apparently are. I should be more careful with my tone next time. I'm sorry mate.
Please accept a bubble as a token of apology.
I want no part of the stupid flame war, but I am writing this to help some of you out there who appear to have trouble "getting it." To those of you who know how to read and have good comprehension, this post is not for you, so I hope you don't think I'm patronizing you or anything. This is for our less fortunate brethren on this forum who obviously need some major help in processing written information.
Here are Sony's official numbers:
But since you mentioned it, why no Tin Tin, I didn't read the big difference. Let's look at it again:
"Japan's Sony Corp (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday said it had cut its ...
You added a "wow" which, in context, was a very loaded word. "Wow" reflects your feelings/reaction/opinion, not that of Mark Rein. So, people can disagree with your "wow."
I meant March '08.
Bathyj, that is just FLAT OUT NOT TRUE. Sony is revising sales targets for the fiscal year ending March 2008. This is a downward revision of the original target of 11 million that Sony had set for THE SAME FISCAL YEAR. It's right there in black and white. Read it.
If you don't believe me, ask youself this: why would Sony set the cut-off at March '09 for the original 11 million figure if it were speaking on a lifetime/launch to-date basis?
If this bundle comes to the US the two games packed in are very tempting indeed. But no dual shock and no 80gb/bc kills it for me. When that deal shows up, then.
The Core/Arcade is a baaaad value, no question about it. But that's true of almost every "economy" level sku in any product line, from cars to appliances. So why ding the game instead of the SKU? If you bought an Arcade/Core, isn't it your fault for practicing false economy that you can't play this game online?
Off-topic, but I think MS should allow devs to require the HD and either phase out the Arcade/Core model or at least warn consumers more clearly that they are ...
That is so wrong. The number of transistors on the IC will remain the same. They'll just get much, much smaller. In fact, if Moore's Law continues to hold sway, Sony's goal would be to cram ever more transistors into the same or smaller space. So if Sony does things right, it will be cranking out even more transistors, but at lower cost.
I'm pushing 30, I've been with the same firm since I graduated (post-grad education - check), high-stress profession but doing ok, just got promoted; two mortgages (1 primary residence, 1 self-liquidating rental, both conventional fixed-rate/30-yr., never been late, thank you); we're not married yet but have been together since college; that will come in due time, when we're both good and ready, and when it happens I guarantee it will be nice and proper; naturally, no kids yet but I have two ...
The man is essentially saying that launch model 360s, and to a lesser extent even the later models, have a higher than average chance of failing regardless of how carefully the manufacturer put it together because it's design is inherently screwed up, and MS knew, or should have known of these problems but sold it to the public anyway.
That's some pretty serious sh!te right there. Let's take a minute to think about it.
If what the insider said turns out to be fal...
Actually, the more "expensive" of the two has an MSRP of less than $100, while the cheaper one comes in less than $60. If somebody comes out with passively cooled versions, these two cards would be great for HTPCs.
The 8800 GT is a great gaming card, but it's meant for a different market.
@ DrWan:
Your statement oversimplifies the reality of things. While it's not completely wrong, it isn't accurate either. Positive revenue intake from the PS2 does offset the negative impact of below-cost PS3 sales, so in that sense the PS2 indirectly subsidizes the PS3. But to suggest that there is a direct sybiotic connection between the two from a strategic business perspective is not correct. It's a lot more complicated than that.
@ fjtorres
I agree 100% with your comments, but I'm afraid a lot of what you say will be lost on most of the regulars here. I myself don't comment much anymore because it's pretty obvious that most people here aren't looking for a genuine discussion and exchange of information. It's more a game of one-upmanship to them. It took a while for me to catch on, but now that I know what's going on I feel stupid for having taken things seriously.
Anyway, since you're he...
This is a class action suit, where the three named plaintiffs filed a claim not just for themselves, but also for other LIVE subscribers that had the same experience. The way this works is, if the suit is successful, each of the individuals that make up the "plaintiff class," which in this case may include the entire subscriber base of Xbox Live, will be awarded a refund for the portion of their subscriptions that they could not use while LIVE was having problems. So, even if they d...
This is for those above who don't seem to understand how these comparison videos are created. GT does not film the screen of a TV with a camera while the console is playing. Instead, the video stream from each console is output directly into the video authoring hardware and saved to a harddrive for editing. When you watch the video on your PC monitor or TV, your are watching the same raw video feed that the capture card received directly from the console. If any adjustment to the picture sett...
The story shouldn't get approved if the link doesn't work or if you can't otherwise read the original story. I didn't get any useful information out of this.
I'm not really disagreeing with you man, but let me just say that reasonable people (not too many of those here) can have an honest debate about which of those two games look better. It all boils down to personal taste. Kameo is a good looking game and was fun for me. It's a keeper and I still have it. But R&C TOD is a great looking game in its own right, and looks loads of fun too. I hope to find it in the bargain bin when I get around to buying a PS3 later this year, but if it's not the...
Zhuk, congratulations. You seem to have perfected your droll little schtick, as it never fails to crack me up even though I can see it coming a mile away.
