RPCS3 is still in development, and just cracking the surface for AAA games, but depending on your hardware you can run something like Red Dead Redemption at 4k with a i9-9900K right now, although not cheap. Overall I wouldn't bother right now, luckily the emulation development is supported pretty well financially through donations so it shouldn't take as long as it has in the past to optimize the hardware costs required.
