Sounds legit. After failing to capture an audience with the last two entries, I'm not shocked they'd have no confidence in a third, probably pulled words out of a hat and scrapped everything but that. Everything about this seems last minute, the name especially.
Just too bad about the name. Very generic sounding.
I am definitely not getting this day one anymore. This beta was one of the most unoptimized experiences of my life. It's like the team that worked on the alpha's optimization was laid off soon after and replaced by the Assassin's Creed team. 80-10 fps fluctuations, crashing my computer four times. Didn't matter how low the settings were set.
I'll wait until after a few patches, maybe. But as someone that put in over four hundred hours into the first game...
Depending how much of a cult following it has, it could be revived by some mod team in the distant future. Similar cases have happened with games like 2142 and Star Wars Galaxies.
Needlessly virtue signaling to a fringe minority for political brownie points is a good way to kill the early momentum of your game's brief popularity. You should be use to failure enough by now Respawn to know better than this.
Based on some comparisons. Yes.
Probably. The guy is a notorious perfectionist which in any industry can make or break you professionally, as you need to make deadlines which perfectionists often neglect to take into account. The worst kind are the ones with no one above them to steer them toward an actual finished product. It usually ends in drained funding, people leaving, or the investors replacing the perfectionist with someone else. Some creative minds need strict direction in order to create.
I wouldn't recommend anyone who isn't tech-savy to get involved in PC gaming. That's just asking for trouble.
There's plenty of resources to get started and learn. PCPartPicker is one example.
Hosting a website isn't exactly a free endeavor. Ads help pay the bills. I'd also hardly call that "yelling".
Mods really need to start auto-failing these racist bullshit articles. They exist only to stir division and sow falsehoods.
Depending on your situation and the extent of gaming as a hobby to you, usually if you can afford to game on consoles then you can afford to game on PC. Because with either choice you're investing between long term or short term. Consoles are a short term investment, you pay a cheaper price upfront, you end up spending a lot more down the line. PC is the opposite, you pay a premium price upfront, you end up saving a lot more down the line. Sales, new release prices from cdkey sites, Steam...

They're technologically impaired. Could show them the inside of a calculator and they'd get anxiety.
I think Lucas is the greatest troll to ever live personally. Created a franchise so many love, years later fans chastise him for certain decisions(now minuscule in comparison to Disney's),eventually selling off the franchise and enjoys a comfortable retirement at the expense of fans begging he'd come back as Disney removes thirty years of source material, and milks the franchise for every cent, leaving little room for quality and narrative consistency.
I remember wh...

Of course. For example I bought and played it on my PS3 at release. Would I play it again on my PS3 at it's lower resolution when I now have the option to play it at a higher one with improved framerate? Lol. No.
So long as the hardware remains limited, that's doubtful.

Yep they're gonna milk it for every cent they can before fans lose complete and utter interest. Quality isn't a priority for them.
The Battlefield 1 debacle actually had legitimacy for calling out DICE on historical inaccuracy, and their exaggerations. Black soldiers for the most part did not participate in the European theater of WWI, aside from some French and American battalions. They weren't present by any wide margin, rather a very small minority compared to the millions of Europeans and Ottomans, especially on the German and British side whom had colonies within Africa, but those soldiers fought in North Africa...
I'd be more concerned with having whomever tags along with Ellie not being invisible to enemy AI like she was the last time. Still in awe that managed to squeeze past testing without mention of a "go here", "stay there" mechanic for the sake of maintaining immersion. Nothing hampered suspense more than trying to be stealthy and your companion just nonchalantly shortcuts across and crouch walks literally two feet past the peripheral of view an enemy facing them, ignored...
"Thankfully, (from both legal and technical standpoint) this likely wont happen for Playstation 4 games, given that those very same games will be available for next generation via B/C and PSNOW, so the whole "preservation" wont be necessary."
You have no way of guaranteeing that. History within this industry has already proven leaving preservation to publishers is not wise, especially when preservation for them is determined around financial incentive. A...
"There is nothing even remotely close to this on pc or consoles."
Wreckfest did better than this even in it's alpha state.
