I think the simple answer is that we just don't know.
Most of mobile gaming is free to play, but I want nothing to do with it. It is littered with predatory microtransactons. Gamepass is such an unknown at this point and it is certainly going to make a shift happen in the industry, it just might not be in the best interest of your average gamer.
What we DO know is that majority of sales(~80%) are happening on Playstation right now. Do we reach a poi...
This is exactly why I've been waiting before starting a game. Having to constantly learn the controls again made the experience unpleasant at times.
I now wait for the complete edition or until all the DLC is out. It's usually on sale by that point and a large portion of bugs has been dealt with, if you have patience it's a win-win scenario.
Here's the thing, none of this matters to majority of gamers, you think your average games is going to notice that a game runs at a slightly higher resolution or that it loads few seconds quicker?
This is all in support of a ridiculous console war that fanboys can argue over and act entitled over. Most people won't notice a 10 frame dip at 120 FPS or a 5 second load time difference and if that is a real problem for you, then I feel sorry for you.
You were blown away by the resolution? Who even says that?
If it had a different art direction I probably would have played it at some point but I just can't get excited for it.
Interesting to see they think one of the best games on PS5 is a 9/10 up there with classics like Lawn Mover Simulator but not quite as good as Psychonauts 2.
It will be interesting to see if it ever gets to a point where publishers are not even putting the game on Xbox because they are not getting a return on their investment or alternatively they have to put the game on Gamepass because at least that way they get Microsoft to pay for a portion of it.
I mean, from the sounds of it Double Fine doesn't want their players to get a game with fast loading times on Playstation, sounds like they dropped the ball. They don't make a great case as to why Playstation gamers would want to support them when they pull something like this.
Not that it's going to be an issue moving forward.
Played through the main story on the weekend, what a fantastic game. One of the best games I ever played, they could have cut so many corners but you can really tell they worked hard on just about everything in this game.
They could have cut so many corners but they really leaned in and gave you everything you would want in a game like this.
Really? Couple minutes and few click is causing you that much grief?
I can only speak from my own experience here.
I have not had to use cross-save for a single game yet or multiple installs, things have just worked for me right out the gate.
Pricing is another thing I don't really have to deal with. The way I have always thought about this is that there is an early adopter tax. The person that gets the game on day one is getting the lowest possible quality of that game(since patches drop and usually improve stability and such...
You are comparing a PS4 game to a PS5 game to make your point. Fact is that the PS4 version of the game that people already have is still exactly the same price as Director's Cut.
This is a completely different point than the one discussed in the first two post of this thread. There is a $10 difference between the PS4 and PS5 version that nobody is going to deny but it is also not mandatory to play Director's Cut so people can make their own decision on if it is wor...
You are wrong on both of those accounts, nobody is selling you the game again because there is an upgrade path and it certainly doesn't cost more now than it did before.
I don't know what narrative you're trying to spread but making these claims without any merrit just makes you look petty.
With that said, remasters are amazing for those who never had the chance to play them before.
Exactly, I've been trying to catch up on some of my PS3 and PS4 backlog inbetqeen the PS5 games I want to play. If you have trouble finding something to play it says more about you than anything about the state of Playstation/games in 2021.
Just because someone hops in here to troll you don't need to troll back, you are literally giving him what he wants.
We can do better.
Ignore and move on.
It certainly wouldn't hurt them to show off a few new things.
It's not ideal but I think it's better than Game of the Year edition. So I think it's a move in a positive direction.
I waited for the complete edition since the game was announced, the wait was long but I took a few days off work this weekend to enjoy this in all it's glory on the PS5.
This puts them at around 70 studios in total.
I don't see a problem with releasing the game in chunks as long as what they do end up releasing is done well. This game was built up as a GaaS from the start so as long as the players get the most out of it, I don't see an issue.
