You have to realize the whole premise they fight on is contradictory.
Example:
Try to close down a strip club and you are oppressing women's rights to do what they want. Try to go to that same strip club and you are oppressing women by treating them like objects.

Yeah I can see this running at $1500.00 and even if it does I am getting myself a pair. If Microsoft supports it and the developers behind it than the things this can do are incredible.

Not to mention the whole point of doing the free upgrade is so they don't spend more money developing windows 7, 8.1, and 10 versions of "every" app.
Of course they will have to for some but this will dramatically reduce development costs.
Its not always about making money... in the long run they are thinking about how much money they will save in development.
If I only had the funding for a larger team I would show them the type of "game" that this would be great for as a developer.

JK, I can see so many awesome uses for this in and out of gaming.
Basically if they program a game/app using the windows 10 "Universal" packages it guarantees the game can be played on Xbox One (Or any other windows 10 platform). That if a person buys the game on PC or X1 that it could be played on either without having to pay twice. All of that is theoretical since the only ones who will probably do that would be Xbox Published games since all the other devs would see this as throwing money out the window.

I wish I had fun at PAX South... it was just really, underwhelming on games and panels and overwhelming on nerds and geeks and I am not really a people person.
I am happy I went since I got to meet Sid Meier, but I think I will pass next year and just read articles like this and let the people that have fun get the passes and go.
