Since when was it a developers job to pander to an audiance who admits they have personal problems?

It is not thier fault you the author has self esteem and "body image problems." Saying they need to fix thier game because you dont agree with the labeling and it may cause others who have issues to feel negative affects is really out of thier control. Even if they changed the names someone could still feel unfairly represented by the labeling alone.

@Hellother1977

Let it out princess... Don't keep that hate bottled up inside. Its not good for the soul.

We should go out for tea and crumpets and I will explain to you what a hypothetical statement is while also going over the subtlety of humor and sarcasm, and you can explain to me about how my parents principles have ruined me.

Awesome... although shame on you for putting a picture of Commander Keen... I was hoping to play that in the browser. Oh well I have them all anyways. I still remember buying Commander Keen as a kid in the store.

You obviously never got the pink bunny costume for Christmas.

You don't have to be grateful for everything you are given. Otherwise when I light a bag of dog poo on your porch and put a bow on it as a gift when you are done putting it out I expect a "Thank you sir, may I have another."

Maybe because "dude" is doing it purely for comedy sake, where Leigh Alexander on the other hand... well I find most things she says to be funny but they aren't usually meant as jokes.

It is all about context, delivery, and source.

"Laugh or don't but at least try your hardest to dispel the stereotypes if you really have an issue with it."

I did, I got married and bought my own house. Stereotype dispelled... Crap,I still fall into this article though because I don't want/like kids so I wont be procreating (on purpose anyways)... But I still practice XD

Anyways its a funny read, although it is overly played out at times. The people that are taking offense either don'...

Hollow threats...

That being said, I don't support Intel in how this push is being administered. I also am aware that they can spend their money however they want.

I will say though during my limited time at Intel I would say that it is already one of the more diverse company's I have ever seen.

That is what I am thinking. A machine that has android based OS that can operate Kodi, Stream my PC games to TV, Has access to the Google Play store for Netflix/Hulu/Games, and can run old machine emulators... for $150 with controller. That is not a bad price point.

Will have to wait to see how well it works though. Lots of options but not all of them are as well suited as their specs would say they are.

"Dude" Really? This is one of many reasons I cant take kotaku seriously.

Almost anything would have been more professional for a headline than "Dude."

I get where you are coming from but unlike tangible goods this is a little bit different of a scenario. Don't get me wrong it is "stealing" and should be punished. The difference being is if you have one loaf of bread and I steal it I leave you with nothing. If you have a song and I steal a COPY, you still have your song. I stole its "perceived*" value but I didn't deprive you of the actual material. Meaning you still have that item to use or sell.

I feel for these developers I really do... but if the market isn't there (and to be honest I never really believed it was) than stop wasting your time and money.

If people are going to steal the game and that makes it not worth making than I understand. However, don't make the game knowing that most of them get stolen and complain when it happens... that is just bad business sense.

Its like walking in the bad part of town... should you be able to walk...

You are a talking contradiction.

Let me put that in another way. "Pop music is the scourge of all music and doesn't deserve one cent, but I'm going to pirate it for free and listen to it anyways."

Or tell them to show me a game worth buying that justifies the price. I usually don't buy a game in the hopes that it leads to another game. I buy the game because I want that game.

Besides I have paid market value for every game I own so I am showing them... I am waiting now for them to show me "better games"... oh wait "Piracy, piracy everywhere."

since you are in the mobile industry maybe you can answer this... which came first the mobile gaming market or micro-transactions?

I would say that the mobile market NEVER really existed outside of micro-transactions so to complain as if it was something "lost" when since the beginning those were pretty much the only games that did well anyways is rather misleading. Of course you have games that are outliers but I would venture to say statistically speaking since I ...

Bungie WAS the reason I played online games... They haven't been the reason for almost 8 years now.

"Destiny was released and worked."

Maybe for you but I remember all the animal named error codes and problems when it released. Just go back and look at the support forum there are plenty of pages created since the beginning. Especially the countless threads of multiple people running through the same router or college campuses.
