As Phil himself said, DX12 will not have a big impact on X1.
DX12 spreads the workloads evenly on the CPU cores, something that X1's API is doing from the inception.
If you didn't know, the purpose of DX12 (the first was Mantle before being bought by MS and re-named it as DX12), was to bring the console performance to PC.
So no, as Project Cars developer said, DX12 will bring to X1 a performance boost between 5-7%.

Sorry but awesome would have been if Forza 6 had dynamic day/night cycle and dynamic weather effects.
Until then, the game remains a very generic and arcade game.
Please don't forgate that GT5 had the above features abouit 5 years ago.
Turn 10 should step up and keep up with the competition.
Nothing in PS4 is hype, but only FACTS.
The FACT that is more powerful, the FACT that is more appealing (smaller, better design), the FACT that has more games, the FACT that has more first party developers (working on NEW IPs) make the PS4 the better console.
On the other hand X1 is just hype and misleading for me. For example: kinect is the integral part of X1 (the FACTS show the contrary), DX12 (all the Xboners falsely think that it will improve something on...
Strangely but I like the controller better than the console is itself.
Not that the console doesn't look good, but that controller has something special in its design and collors.
Personally I give the controller 10/10, while the console a 9/10.
You can buy 1 TB SSHD or HDD @7200 giving you some performance upgrade too
If you're not interested in performance you can install a 2TB HDD.
The PS4 HDD use it as external HDD or sell it on E-bay.
You are perfectly right.
The FACT that the streaming feature has frame-rate drops and diminishes the resolution DOES NOT HAVE anything to do with YOU TUBE compression.
But we should be already used with XBOX fanatic fans damage control. They will say anything to defend their VCR look piece of plastic.
The fact of the matter is that streaming to PC was a hyped feature for X1 and W10, but the reality shows (once more) that the hype was artifici...
I'll have plenty of games to keep me busy until the PS4 release.
Moreover, giving the fact that PS4 has 4 times the asynv compute units (8 instead of 2 of X1), the game will look and play better.
So it's worth the wait.
More like every developer that is preparing to launch a game take advantage of the DX 12 fuss.
In this case they "speak with Dylan Browne of Incandescent Imaging about their upcoming game Caffeine".
This is Brad Wardell's creation with his past statements, when he wanted to promote his game aswell. One day he admitted that he knows nothing about DX12 on X1 and nothing have been heard about him.
Now any developer will say anythin...
Good point man!
However, when MS will win a month, the sales will count and we will see person like Aaron Greenbern creating controversy through its twitter account (something like "In your face Sony fans").
I cannot understand MS. They say that sales don't matter but:
- they publicly announce that X1 was top seller in one week of June (when PS4 was the overall winner).
- they sell the X1 at a dumping price ($350 with 2-3 games b...
@MasterConrnholio
"Struggling with PS4 hardware"
Funny to say this, thinking that the majority of the games have better resolution AND better frame rate (F1 and Project Cars are the latest two).
Nonetheless, my question is very simple.
If CDPR can disable the double buffering in X1 version, why they are not switching OFF on the PS4 version?
From the video is not so much gain in terms of performance, at least on PS4.
X1 version sees some gaines, but this is due to the disabling of the double buffer that was implemented in the 1.07 patch.
But my question is why they do not eliminate the double buffer from the PS4 version as well.
Does it have to do with the marketing deal that MS had with CDPR?
I hope they will keep supporting this extremely fun game.
No they weren't
They just analysed the E3 footage, nothing more nothing less.
You shoud stop watching the Youtube frauds like Nxtgen720 and Crapgamer, and start using YOUR brain.
Also, you Xbox fans are just to sensitive with regard to FACTUAL news and CONSTRUCTIVE feedback.
Be aware that this attitude makes you fanatic over a piece of plastic.
@SonofGod
Nothing on PS3 was better looking than Halo4?
LOL
You sure are a Xbox fan.
Killzone 2 or 3 was better looking than Halo 4.
Not to mention Uncharted 3 or TLOU.
Halo 4... Common.
Thanks!
This is the information that I was looking for.
Not interested then.
Sorry, but Turn 10 cut corners. Don't want to support this practice.
@n4rc
But the main idea is that anybody (eith sufficient financial resources) Can have it.
The main idea is that The Cloud has nothing special or secretive.
The cloud has a very very limited purpose as it is used ONLY for multiplayer part and ONLY for phisics calculations (NOT GRAPHICS).
As long as the cloud cannot bring the resolution to 1080p, it cannot count as a weapon.
PR statements like 20x the power of X1 in conjunction with building destruction (while the graphics and animation look so bad) could be seen as just a PR gimmick.
Edit: How can be a secret weapon when theoretically (and possib...
We should all be more reserved as regards the games mentioned in the article, since the list of games is just speculation.
In fact, the article has a disclaimer:
"Note: This list has been put together from a collection of sources, including official releases and imagery, and interviews and insights provided by specialist press. They should be taken as an educated guide until officially confirmed."
Another promotion for X1?
Gee, something bad should be happening at MS headquarters.
Not to mention that AC Unity has been part of the X1 selling promotion for almost a year now.
Sure AC Unity was/ is an important marketing deal for MS.
And we were wondering why the PS4 version had so many issues... The importance of AC Unity in MS's marketing plan should answer the question.
Nonetheless, how much can MS ...
