I will have to bring the same arguments:
First of all the gain in performance is for PC users and not X1. X1 already has a low level API like DX12.
Secondly, it was said that the gain in performance could be UP TO 50%. This means that the maximum performance could reach 50%, otherwise can fluctuate between 0-50. This number was given for PC benchmark. As for the X1, Phil Spencer himself said that DX12 will not bring massive improvements, so will not see any 5...

Thirdly, I re...
But according to Phil Spencer a maximum 50% performance gain will be seen with Directx 12.
Less than a year ago we were discussing about 2 times the performance (100% more). Here is a n4g article in which 414 comments were posted.

So I will say to wait a proper comparison because the percentage could change.
As if someone forces you to buy something.
The 10% voucher is optional; you use it if you want.
Have you heard that you can use PS Now for free for the next 7 days? Sony just announced this promotion for their fans.
Now this should be a great deal. Nobody can argue this.
Sony is really close to its fans/ customers.
@codemmedman
Check the link below and do the math. You will convince yourself!

And please be aware that all the games released until now are CPU bound.
In the future (when the games will be GPU bound) the PS4 will have almost double the power of the X1 - according with the below Ubisoft benchma...
Are you OK with the fact that MS is investing money in such type of PR?
Instead spending money on silly PR ( Emmy awards, supposedly SDK leak, devs incentives for performance gain in AC Unity), they should invest in first party dev studios. Just my opinion!
Good for them! Apparently Don Mattrick bet on a winning card with TV TV TV TV ...
MS takes the trophy for TV capabilities, while PS4 for the gaming capabilities (50% more powerful, friendly UI, streaming capabilities on different devices, OUT OF THE BOX voice commands, first party dev studios, better design etc).
I for one I will go with the PS4 because I already have a TV (from 2011) that already does more than X1 on the TV related features (PaP, PiP, TV GU...
Much much better than the already awesome Infamous SS?
And to think that only 14 months have passed since the release!
This will be a great generation!
Congratulation Sony!
I am also surprised how closed VGCharts is with their PS4's numbers - i.e. 18.2 million as of 20 December 2014.
@Dudebro90
Far Cry 4 is not equal on X1 and PS4. PS4 runs at 1920x1080, while X1 runs at a lower resolution of 1440x1080 (it is the equivalent of 900p).

Wow! You realize that MS is stripping X1 from features just to give a marginal power gain?!!This is not a good update in my opinion!
Indeed it is a marathon! But in this case, why we are discussing something that will become irrelevant in the near future.
We are discussing about CPU power, when the future is all about the GPU.

Ubisoft made a performance test (see the above picture) for the CPU and GPU of both PS4 and X1, with the following results: ...
Sony confirmed at Sony Experience that PS4 is the fastest selling console in HISTORY. So the difference is much higher than you think.
I don't know from where you got the 14 mil figure.
I agree with you. Having a PS4, Wii U and a decent PC is the way to go because you cover 99% of the games.
OT: MS lost another month despite the aggressive marketing campaign, dumping price and unfair competition.
Of course it is! Europeans are smart because they know what a good quality product is, attentive to quality/ price ratio, long term investment and not falling for the artificial hype.
So it's a game developed on X1 and then ported on PS4. Yea, this is just great!
"What's curious about this game is that two different studios are handling development duties. In charge of the DirectX 11 versions - PC and Xbox One - we have the game's creators, Ivory Tower. Meanwhile, THE PLAYSTATION 4 VERSION IS HANDLED BY Reflection, WORKING DIRECTLY FROM THE Ivory Tower CODEBASE."
MS definitely won Nov. They did everything they could to won this month, among which:
- sell the X1 at a dumping price (as low as $299 with two games), just to be sure they will beat PS4;
- they accepted a financial loss (giving the console almost free) just to be sure they will beat PS4;
- they based their sale on a bundle with AC Unity. Curiously X1 is the platform with the least bugs, being thus the more appealing option. So here they did everything they could just ...
No one said that will not affect the X1, but as Phil Spencer said DX12 will not bring a "massive change" to the X1.

Having in mind that 50% is the MOST optimist gain for PC games (and in most cases will fluctuate between 0-50), it means that X1 will no...
