Us PC guys specifically seek out and target PS4 players because of their severe disadvantages. If I see a PS4 icon next to their name I'm almost guaranteed an easy kill.

It really doesn't. It means that there will be a 1080/60 FPS version (hopefully lol) and then there will be the 900/30 FPS version. I can guarantee you the people with the latter aren't going to be happy if these new consoles are actually hardware upgrades.

Developers have the power to do more? You mean make boring cliched plot driven "film-games" that take away control from the player constantly? Half Life is a linear corridor experience it has never taken away control the from the player. Yet here we are almost 20 years later and developers can't seem to make games that follow that simple rule.

I would argue yes. Why yes? Because we're a month off of release and I feel like we barely know what constitutes some of the features of the game. I keep saying the same thing but it is because it's true; we only just last month learned what the UI for conversating with aliens would be. That's not a good sign to me.
Everything else regarding the game? Dog fighting? Trading? Crafting? We've either not seen or seen in an incredibly limited sense. Maybe a few ...

Please, no. Every live action movie turns out horribly. They just do not work. Seeing awkward camera angles as a woman in a suit turns into the morph ball would not be a quality experience I would be interested in seeing.
