You have absolutely no idea how surveys work, do you?

How do you know who the survey went to? Can you share the info with us so we can better analyze it?

No survey of this type ever surveys all product owners.

Also, making sure you have a fair representative cross section of the group you're targeting is more important than simply the survey size.

'50 bucks savings just for waiting a year!'

That's awesome, that's the equivalent of getting a two cents per hour raise from your boss on a full time job. Well, slightly less if we factor in the RedBox fees for renting the game prior to purchase, but awesome nonetheless.

Dude, I've played Gears 3 (love it by the way), so now I can spout opinionated bullshit and file it under 'telling it like it is'?

None of our opinions define reality, they're just a conglomerate of our preferences and biases.

You worded your initial post to get a reaction, then when you get it you try to cover it up and come off as Mr Neutral, objective and unbiased.

Please, you're as transparent as glass and as deep as a...

'The sales numbers objectively determine the success and popularity of the games more than the review scores/opinions of some random game reviewers.'

You are partially correct. Sales numbers do show popularity, however, since which you purchase/prefer is based upon opinion, which is completely subjective, it is in no way objective. Neither is reviews, as they are based upon subjective opinion as well.

Now just show me a legitimate dictionary or thes...

Sure you hear about the game play...it's usually just along the lines of...

'Duh, dey jus stole duh cover system Gears invented'

And the title clearly states about winning over the critics, so you didn't even need to read the article to realize sales were irrelevant to the discussion.

You fanboys only appreciate 'facts' when they can be spun to your purpose.

You missed my personal favorite, grenade spamming, especially when from distances no world class athlete could reach throwing, yet every average Joe in the military can manage when I step on the battle field.

Yeah, because everyone knows that the entire development team is needed to work on each and every car, one by one, until they're all done.

I agree. In modes where you or your team win by racking up the highest number of kills it makes sense.

In objective based game modes, not so much.

Basing your sense of self worth around your KDR doesn't make you hardcore, it makes you pathetic.

Then why didn't you buy a backward compatible PS3?

Yeah, a good portion of my friends list are always on BFBC2, so I'm gonna call bullshit on your...well, bullshit.

Maybe that's exactly what you should want to happen.

Think of the possibilities.

Nomura gets pissed, leaves SE, Sony hires him to head a newly formed first party studio, and voila, you have a real AAA exclusive, a real Nomura game, just not under the Final Fantasy name.

GT5 and UC3 could definitely be said to meet the same criteria.

Your point falls short on the PS1 and PS2, however. With the expansion of console online connectivity it's much easier to be influenced by friends, pop culture, etc. due to simplicity of connecting. Now we can play together from afar, instantly, provided we own the same console and games. Gone are the days of needing to travel to a friends house to play together. I'm not judging it one way or the oth...

'You get what you pay for. Pay nothing and do not expect much'

Is that the same logic you use to justify paying for sex?

'where most of their friends are on'

That is the exact definition of pop culture. You do realize the 'pop' in pop culture stands for popular. Popular culture.

'where most of their friends are on'

Sure seems like it satisfies the criteria of popular, doesn't it?

'The large majority of consumers don't even know if a game is exclusive though.'

Consumers in general, which includes non-gamers, yes. Gamers in general, not so much.

When is the last time you saw someone trying to buy the Gears3/PS3 bundle? Or pick up Halo:Reach for the PS3?

He's implying that the fanboys feelings are hurt that Insomniac is making a multiplat title, so in a nerd rage revenge they are boycotting the game.

Seems immature, if true.
