Where did you get that? When I went to their OXCGN tab it says (from Grant the founder):

"OXCGN started out life solely as a vehicle for me to host a listing that I had started back in 2005 and a way to get it out into the Xbox Community.

But now, it has now evolved and grown into a great ‘Multiplatform site‘ to better represent the team as a whole who are behind this great site."

and later:

True: the same site has a story on apocalypse games:

http://oxcgn.com/2012/01/09...

And there are plenty of movies about them too. I think it will sell well, but I hope they still will make some fun Indiana Jones type games like Uncharted still.

Bubbles though for being sensible.

You're sort of wrong :)

They recently held a comp and wrote:

"OXCGN is celebrating its 3 million unique views mark, which for an independent unfunded international multiplatform gaming site that started as an Australian Xbox blog isn’t too shabby a number at all."

Their scores for PS3 exclusives are usually pretty high too. Besides the guy says he likes Naughty Dog.

By the way: Tintin rules!

Fair enough statement. And I'm not writing it off by any means.

But they want to presumably attract people to their title as well as 'express themselves the way they want'. A lot of people have reservations on the initial concept, but then a lot are excited too.

The author actually says why I don't think this is the right direction personally:

"Problem is, we’ve been seeing a lot of that angle lately...In the world of...

I think that people who play a lot of games and write about them have the right to point things out to devs when they are taking an approach that may not be as attractive as they think.

I love Uncharted for the light fun adventure style of gaming. I don't think this is the right direction for Naughty Dog in my opinion, but will see what they come up with.

Interesting? Do you mean the devs made interesting choices?

Without zombies? Wow..a Brand New World indeed!

I hope I Am Alive is good...the fact it is DLC only makes me wonder if they think it is a AAA title or not...

I'm not that taken with The Last of Us at all yet, but bring on AC3 and ME3!

All of those points are really good ones. I especially think that they need to think about how to make things run the most efficiently and be easy for the developers to cut costs.

I'm really not sure how this would translate that well onto touch screens. Games need to be made for the platform imo, not adapted any old way.

Look at MW3 on Wii....

So what was with all the STALKER is dead talk awhile back then?

Did they get new funding or a publisher?

I'm still on the fence.

Still, as long as I have a console that is backwards compatible (or the original console working) I can revisit the games, even if they aren't HD.

It's very important the new consoles are backwards compatible, I think, just for the ability to go back and play some games. It may not be often, but it is still worth it.

I debate the same way with Eternal Darkness. Do I really want it remade...will it spoil the memories?

I really wish Silicon Knights hadn't experimented with Too Human and instead did at least one sequel. Look at the job cuts they've had now.

Sequels or remakes are not the gaming answer as we need new Ips, but they do fund them...

There seem to be so many devs of racing games going bust, that it's good to see one still doing well!

Good point...all these awards and metacritic review scores are irrelevant to individual tastes. But they are fun :)

5290d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Exactly. I love Naughty Dog, and this game will probably be a lot of fun, but we sure are depressing lately with all our 'post apocalypse' games: must be the 2012 so called prophesy and global financial stress or something...:)

5290d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

We can stop comparing gaming to the film industry, or whatever as long as our 'official' awards ceremonies are idiotic like that...

5290d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Umm, I think he may be referring to the styles: you have to admit that The Last Of Us looks a lot like I Am Legend...and there have been a lot of post-apocalyptic games recently.

Ubisoft's I Am Alive is similar too (though not sure about zombies). But many zombie games lately.

Hitman and Bioshock, though sequels look fresh. If Bioshock was another 'under the sea' one I'd agree with you.

Not sure why you think it is fanboyism...

Well Battlefield 3 over MW3 is the right choice I think...except I do love the Seatown map and the fact we can play local multi offline in MW3.

Who would have thought a Sesame Street game would win a category...

Yeah as long as the preview is right and you don't have to 'pay' for things you really do need. Bait and switch otherwise..
