Considering it was reduced to $39.99 shortly after release and sold for that price through the holidays, I don't know.
Certainly would have sold much better if it were on all platforms, and had not been released against other big games.
Probably would have sold much better had it been a PS4 exclusive since the Tomb Raider games have sold better on Playstation platforms and PC.
Still think it was a dumb move by SuareEnix and Crystal Dynami...
The tittle of the article is click bait and miss leading, purposefully done to give the impression that the Xbox One outsold the PS4 during the holiday season. There has been no numbers for December given and the PS4 sold better than the Xbox One in November. Xbox One won October by having 3% more sales than PS4, the month Halo 5 released and many pre orders of the Halo 5 CE console (a console that was on pre order many months before release) sold through.
The article is actu...
A bunch of fanboys for sure agreeing with the stupid statements from Strikepackage Bravo. The more agrees this guy gets the more we learn how dumb certain fanboys can be.
So F-ing shameful.
I own an Xbox One and I think it is great but I am not an idiot that agrees with stupid statements.
Makes it sound like they got them back from another console, not really the case though, both the PS4 and Nintendo Wii have a lot of indie games, I would guess that the PS4 still has many more indie games and many exclusive indie games.
Many Xbox One gamer's on N4G act like Indie games aren't really games and have tried to use the fact that PS4 has a lot of them against the PS4, so I would guess those same people don't care about them on Xbox One.
I personally don't think Rare Replay is going to be on Wii U. Minecraft is a different story it is already on everything but Wii U, Including PS4.
Just a lot of wishful thinking, Nintendo is never going to partner with Microsoft.
Only in the US.
Xbox One has not gained any ground on PS4, period. In fact the PS4 has increased it's lead over Xbox One By a few million, fact not fiction like this article. Has the Xbox One increased it's sales year over year? Yes and so has the PS4, and since the sales lead has increased for PS4 the sales percentage probably has increased more for PS4.
A remake is exactly what I want, Modern graphics, better game control and some new content that adds to the great game it already is. Seams more like a much improved directors cut of the game.
Also, the fact that it will be episodic does not bother me at all, people do realize that each episode will probably be longer than a average game. We will also be playing the remake much sooner than maybe expected rather than waiting for several years for the entire game to come out. ...
The Order 1886 was a fairly decent game with a couple flaws like chapters with no game play, annoying stealth mechanic, but the length of the game was fine, 8 to 10 hr's if you weren't doing a speed run of the game, and the story was pretty good even with the cliff hanger ending that I am sure was to be answered in the games sequel. The game play over all was good to. The graphics are amazing and everything is in engine no pre-rendered cut scenes, also ran smooth as silk with almost n...
I think gamer's are getting more than enough of all types of games on all gaming platforms, plenty of AAA, AA, Indies, Free to Play even Vita games, plus VR is coming very soon and from all accounts from people who have actual experienced it, it is pretty great.
I remember when AAA meant it was a really good game and didn't really refer to big studios and how much money was spent on them.
A lot of those indie games looked really good and interesting. ...
I wish this man would go away.
Do we really need gaming / business commentary from a been counter. The community that he is addressing aren't stock holder's.
He should stick to giving advice to stock holders instead of trying to influence the market or trying to be a celebrity / attention whore.
He doesn't make games, he's not a publisher, I doubt he even plays them very often. He's not rellevent to gamer's.
Such a cut throat, dirty industry sometimes. Kojima definitely deserves recognition for his game, denying him his public recognition for great work is just wrong. Shame on Konami.
There's plenty games for me to buy. Trust me I enjoy many games on all systems and have no loyalty to a brand.
I think publishers, developers, console makers should support the consumers who support them.
I don't have to be a di6k because I don't like what someone else said or their opinion. Forums are for speaking your opinion.
By the way, we are all smart enough to know what your on about.
You going to pay 700-1000 for it? not me.
I may not buy the game at all because the deal that was made with Microsoft screwed the majority of the games fan base, PC and Playstation gamer's, the people that bought and supported the Tomb Raider games most and by a huge margin.
I bought the last game on PC.
I have an Xbox One and I have bought three exclusive games for it this holiday season but Tomb Raider wasn't one of them.
It probably would not do well, just like the move controllers and kinect.
Cool technology, but I don't think gamer's want something that equates to something like a secondary experience, so far I have not seen any real control type game play done with it. It's just a more elaborate secondary screen type of thing, not literally but similar in what it can offer to games. The price for it will probably be more than most would want to pay for that experience.
It's more suited to educational purposes.
GO AWAY PACHTER!
Sold 100k less on Xbox One in the US where the PS4 is ahead by around a 900,000. Fallout 4 has sold more than 1,550,000 more on PS4 than Xbox One world wide. Still solid numbers for both considering install base.
@sammarshall102
Most games for PSVR or the other VR systems are not on-rails games. Uneducated comment or fanboy missleadings, probably both.
PSVR has the best chance of success. PS4 has the biggest install base that can run VR. There are estimated 13 million PC's that can run Rift/Vive VR where there are 36.9 million PS4 systems that are ready to run PSVR (will be much more by the time it releases). Also PS4 having a large install base and potential for ...
