Sounds more like MS is ramping up for the next Xbox!
You generally start manufacturing at the earliest 6-month prior to release, so we are more than a year away.
That said, MS debut their console on MTV in May of 2005 for a release 4-5 months later so revealing it next year isn't out of the question for a release in 2013.
I find plenty of games as a core gamer and Xbox 360 keeps me playing them longer than any other platform thanks to the excellent Xbox Live platform that connects me to my friends.
More social gaming, I'm up for it! I love team work.
I use Kinect all the time. It's pretty awesome!

***And now the next Xbox has no discs. So all that massive 7.1 audio is going to have to be downloaded instead of coming on 25 or 50 gigabyte discs.***
Ironically, discless is the future and it is also has no upper limit on storage space. In fact, it would be awesome if you could have different digital versions with different sizes so users could choose and if you could download the game in chapters i.e. download part of the game and start playin...
***Gaming droid hasn't gamed long enough to experience turning their playstaion on its side to play discs properly or having their PS2 decide to not play at all.***
I have probably gamed longer than you. Not seeing the relevance of your comment directed at me though?
That said, Nintendo Wii had the overheating graphics chip.
... and I do remember the PS2 lawsuit regarding the botched disc drive. Those users essentially got screwed, becaus...
I haven't had a single problem with ANY of my consoles (Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii).... I use the Xbox 360 the most too.
Sounds excellent! Bring it on... preferably, but unlikely this year!!!
@NathanExplosion
"Motorstorm: Arctic Edge is probably not a hugely popular digital download. As is, most legitimate owners probably didn't even notice that something happened. Or, they had their game saved to the Vita already so have noticed nothing wrong. Still, at the time of this writing the game is still inaccessible on the Store for new purchases or even anyone who had bought it prior to this mess."
Although, I'm not for low quality sites, I do want unestablishments sites that grow and become established sites.
I want quality variety... not the same old rehash.
Kind of sad to see legitimate game owners getting screwed by Sony with no access to purchased game/content, while the pirates are enjoying their free PSP mode.
I wouldn't consider loosing access to games you legally bought and own minor. That is a perfect example of pirates enjoying their free game, while legitimate purchasers being punished.
Why pay, when you can get it for free with arguably more freedom than legitimate owners? In this case it is a free emulator....
It's a shame a lot of these schemes hurt legitimate owners, while rewarding the pirates. When will we see a company that will take the DRM fre...
Depends on how you define core, but I hardly think Halo/CoD is non-core games...
I think MS gained the most due to their history and gained a lot of core gamers, Nintendo indisputably won overall with casual gamers and Sony lost the most.
In terms of distribution of core gamers, I would say they are evenly split between Xbox 360 and PS3 with a slight edge to the Xbox 360. However, that might shift as MS focuses on casual games and broadening appeal.
There are a lot of inconveniences on PC relative to console, but that inconvenience is a result of it's strength.
Although you can hook up a controller, it doesn't change the fact that I frequently have to d!ck with settings, update hardware drivers and sometimes get very buggy graphics.
... and there is nothing wrong with it's performance relative to it's peers?
I have an indirect stake in sales, in that if the product does well, MS will support it better. As it stands, MS has re-invented the dashboard, Xbox Live and a host of other things already. This isn't likely something a company would do without significant profits.
That said, if you care about performance (and I assume hardware) and not sales then PC is the platform for y...
If MS doesn't release a console next year, it might look like Nintendo has a huge advantage with the Wii U as I think the market is ready for a "reasonably" priced next-generation console.
I'm ready for it, but uncertain if I'm willing to be an early adopter simply because Nintendo has proven to be utterly cr@ptastic at online strategies considering the current state of their online platform and Friend Codes!
Online gaming has turned out...
Since the Xbox 360 platform is still going strong it does seem a little premature, but then again there is always early next year to build up hype for the following Fall. At least that is what I'm hoping for as I'm ready!
All this commotion and it might just be a clerk that mistyped!
We are a sad bunch aren't we?
@MultiConsoleGamer
... and I had never had E74, RROD, gamerscore wiped or dashboard bricking my console.
Never really had a problem with my PS3 or Wii either.
This is a natural decline in the industry due to saturation in the market.
MS is on top worldwide as of last count, and the data do suggest it getting worse and I expect it too for all three console manufacturers. However, MS still has at least one ace up it's sleeve that no one else has, and that is a price cut on both Kinect and Xbox 360s.
I think MS is best positioned right now.... and Nintendo has a huge opportunity as the market is ready for a new &...
This type of math (often used in computer algorithms classes) are very theoretical and resembles very little of what you learn in high school or even lower level college classes.
The author glosses over the details and in one sentence tries to explain it, so it wouldn't surprise me if most wouldn't know what P and NP is.
