PlayStation Plus is a great deal for anyone who owns at least ONE of the supported systems (PS3, Vita, PS4), but it REALLY pays for itself in spades when you have two to all three platforms.

Myself, I've had it for a few months before the PS4 launched to use with my PS3 and claim up Vita games in the future hope I would get a Vita (and I am BTW when the slim hits the US). Just 3 months in I was dumbfounded why the hell I never got Plus sooner -- seriously 3 months with on...

"Akira Yamaoka was the soul silent hill"

You have no idea how true that statement is. The music made those games. It was what really set Silent Hill apart from other survival horror games.

As far as Kojima "rebooting" Silent Hill, I have mixed feelings. Silent Hill, specifically 1-4, have some nostalgia that a reboot could kill or have a very hard time living up to. I feel that a Kojima Silent Hill while the gameplay may shine, the story a...

Microsoft has a bad history of "channel stuffing". I'm not saying Sony or Nintendo have never done this, just that Microsoft does it a LOT.

Microsoft is the king of number manipulation (eg. counting Windows 7 as Windows 8 sales because they "sold" a copy of Windows 8 with downgrade rights, despite the end result being a machine running Windows 7). Microsoft has a long history of twisting the living hell out of numbers to convince investors and others t...

Kojima has always had a bias towards favoring the PlayStation brand. Hell, it's because of the PlayStation that the Metal Gear Solid series (not Metal Gear) took off -- so I can understand the origin of his bias.

The only reason versions have been ported to other consoles is because of Konami. Even though Kojima is the creative director behind the series, Konami signs his paychecks, so when they tell him to release on Xbox & PlayStation he kind of HAS to release on bo...

Microsoft has not been as great as Sony and Nintendo in this regard though.

It is a mark of professionalism if you can praise, congratulate, or otherwise put any positive light on a competitor while still concentrating on your own product's shining points.

One thing I've noticed of both Sony and Nintendo is their tendency to never mention their competition directly by name when talking negatively. We all know who they are referring to by context, but ...

@WB
"It was stated Titanfall will be [exclusive] for it's lifetime."

The "exclusivity" is part of a contract. Contracts have "safety" clauses, at least those drawn up by smart lawyers. I am willing to bet there is a safety clause in Microsoft's/EA's contract that if a specific number of sales are not met by a specific date the "exclusivity" is broken between the publisher and Microsoft and EA can release on whatever ...

Question:
Is this the amount of times people have hit the "Share" button OR is this how many times people have actually uploaded a picture, video, or run a broadcast?

If this was actual uploads, that is still a LOT of sharing in just a few months. If this is button presses, then yeah it is not as impressive as myself I've accidentally created photo and video captures by bumping the Share button.

I only have one video capture from AC4 tha...

And this is why Nintendo hasn't gone the way of Sega. Nintendo has always had a fairly successful to remarkably successful handheld on the market to subsidize lack luster console generations. The success of the DS, Wii, and 3DS are literally floating Nintendo and staving the problems of the WiiU for the time being.

The Wii was just an out of the blue success that NO ONE including Nintendo saw coming. Nintendo got lucky and hit the perfect market at the perfect time. The p...

I'm psyched for this game. The crappy thing is I'm still pacing my way through Thief and I'm also getting Metal Gear Solid:GZ just before Infamous.

Most likely Infamous will win out and be taking a majority of my time. I'll still have a few days with MGS first so we'll see if it sticks.

A modest review. I'm surprised. Most review sites have been tearing this game to pieces and I believe it is because they want too badly for Thief [4] to be Dishonored.

While both ARE stealth games, they are not in anyway the same game. Dishonored at its core is meant to be combative (the goal is to kill people for Christ's sake) and as such has combat mechanics and the AI to back that up. Thief [4] is meant to be the furthest thing from combative and as such has poor ...

"Pretty sure it wouldn't be them doing it, though."

Most likely it would be out sourced to a smaller studio specialized in the handhelds. My bet would be their sister studio (via Sly) Sanzaru as they already have a history with Vita games and ports.

As far as them looking to make new IPs, this is to be expected of both Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch as that is the reason Sony bought them. They have both proven they are willing to try new things an...

The demand for the PS4 Camera is only so high because:
(1) [Very Low Supply] Sony didn't make a lot of them to begin with as people showed with the first Kinect and Sony's own PSEye on the PS3 that they (the majority) did not want camera based games and that the market for the camera is extremely niche.
(2) [Very High Demand] Unexpected by Sony, people actually want the camera for all the streaming and broadcasting. A VAST majority of the camera's demand is because...

You can do some cool things with acrylic and led lights though. I think this would have been cooler to have the LED light diffused up from the bottom of the trophy through the clear acrylic plastic - effectively make the trophy a light up trophy.

I admit metal would be nice, but lights always make people go "oooo" and "aaaah". Maybe meet halfway with some sort of mix of metal and acrylic.

"For most gamers (besides younger games) it sat and collected dust after the newness wore off."

Yep. It did for me. The only game for my Wii that actually saw some serious playtime was Super Paper Mario (fun as hell). I played Galaxy for a while and even tried to get into Galaxy 2, but both lost their lust very quickly in comparison to SPM. I even tried to give Smash Bros. multiple goes, but it didn't have the same fun-factor Melee had.

For at l...

I think Hideo may be exaggerating a little, but I do believe that he is either referring to the literal map size or the complexity (which is totally subjective).

If Ground Zeroes does not have a very large map (area-wise) in comparison to games like Just Cause 2 or GTA 5, then 200 times bigger could be plausible if the map was as big as those mentioned to even twice that size.

I don't expect the playable map size of Ground Zeroes to be much larger than th...

I feel better getting my news from Jon Stewart's Daily Show than ANYTHING on Fox News. His "fake" news show is more legitimate than Fox News who claims to be a real news network.

You are better off with ABC, CNN, or even MSNBC (who is still biased, but less so than Fox) for your news.

Fox News has been caught too many times with their pants down and have literally ZERO credibility or integrity. At this point the Onion has more credibility than F...

@Irishguy95

MGS4's bosses were meant to mimic MGS's bosses/characters.

Screaming Mantis = Psycho Mantis
Laughing Octopus = Decoy Octopus
Raging Raven = Vulcan Raven
Crying Wolf = Sniper Wolf

This was intentional to be a nod back to the original MGS, far more than just the Shadow Moses revisit.

MGS4 brought closure to Solid Snake's storyline in a damn good way.

MGS:GZ and MG...

@PONTIAC08G8GT

Happy to see you are enjoying your system of choice with little bias and for the proper reason: games you enjoy. I will never argue against that.

I will point out though that Microsoft will never shake the seeds of mistrust they have planted. Microsoft really did take a big dump on their core consumer base and really consumers in general with their draconian anti-consumerist DRM model.

Yes they went back on everything, BUT they...

I've been enjoying it quite a bit. I would agree with the loading screens...almost as bad as Skyrim (at least the console versions - Skyrim loads quickly on my PC as it is on an SSD).

I love the idea of being a ghost, swiping anything and everything, and leaving with no one being the wiser. I've only completed a couple Chapters and side missions and am already 2-3 hours logged (I have been playing very short sessions over the past 2 days); I see no issue in me meeting...

Play AC3. AC3 introduced the same Hunting and Weather changes that are in AC4 and FarCry3.

I'm not surprised by the similarity between the three as they most likely have some of the same developer staff working on each of them.

The problem with AC3 was that the notoriety system was broken in that it was too hard to shake the AI off your tail. The story is also the weakest of ALL the Assassin's games. The overly specific bonus objectives in many of the...
