How many hours have you played Monster Hunter World? You don't have a PS4 or XBox One since you only game on Nintendo so how many actual hours have you played the game that you have no problem saying isn't as good as another Monster Hunter game. Nintendo took the 3D out of the 3DS so it is entirely believable of them taking the dock out to make a cheaper Switch SKU. People could always buy it separately so it isn't hurting customers in the long run either since they could always upgrade after a purchase. It also wouldn't affect the Switch name since you could still switch from handheld to tabletop modes of play.

and nobody ever says that Nintendo games don't go on sale (except you apparently). People complain that they don't get their price lowered.
Going on sale and lowering MSRP are 2 different things. One is done by the retailer and one is done by Nintendo. First party 3DS games are almost always on sale and BOTW and Mario Odyssey have been on sale several times this year. MSRP on any of those games has not changed though.

Emphasis on films is not the same as movie tie-in though. The article does describe how these new licensed games are going out of their way not to be movie tie-ins. Iron Man 2 was the example used of a movie tie-in "with it instead being another cash-grab intended to appeal to the broadest audience possible across platforms" as opposed to being an original take on the IP.
