Yes, at a really high conceptual overview of the gaming landscape streaming in concept is the most convenient way to play. No one has executed the concept well enough to win over those not in favour.
Will it happen? Probably. Are we there yet? No.
EPIC GAMES.... GOOD?!?!???????
Depends on the objective. I play overwatch all of the time and nothing is more frustrating that hearing a player that is a liability to the team say, "But i have gold damage!". The objective is to win, not to come out with a high k/d.
Very often making a sacrificial play that causes your support player to stay alive after being dove upon by the enemy team will win you the match.
High ranks do mean something. Typically better mechanical ability...
Having recently built a PC I must say that I agree. Playing games on a desk is great for high intensity competitive gaming but that can be exhausting if that is what you do all of the time. It is remarkable how much a difference it makes to switch from a desk to a couch. The vibe changes completely.
Sometimes I just want to relax and take something slow. This is what the living room gaming experience is great at.
Some of the technology that I have been us...
Man Bethesda cannot catch a break!
Like what the hell is happening over there?
Are they really that out of touch of their community?
Do they not understand why they were loved and cherished in the first place?
Is there an internal struggle between the shareholders and the developers of the games?
It is like they are searching for landmines only to proceed to purposely step on them.
It is like the kid who scored 0/100 in a ...
I think this is something most of us have been wanting for a very long time. My first Bethesda game was Skyrim and I was totally in love with the world and experience. But Bethesda is no longer the heavyweight they used to be. The should put some effort in competing with what other companies are doing visually. They have the resources which is why I am always so confused with why they choose not to.
The are at an all time low in terms of brand recognition and loyalty. They...
I would still say that compared to where they were at the beginning of the xbox one gen, vs to where they are now you can see the improvement in the right direction. Microsoft game pass is insane value and will include all first party titles, they are leading in their cross play commitment, backwards compatibility, and the DO have a renewed focus on games. This does signal to me a movement to customer friendly decisions even if they are not directly benefiting the xbox brand itself. It could ...
I feel that now more than ever there has to be a paradigm shift in terms of game monetization.
I have been brainstorming over the years as to how additional monetization methods could be integrated into games in a way that is non offensive that the gaming community would be fine with.
I think we see certain trends that make more sense than others.
I think solving this problem is going to be the most important issue for the gaming commu...
Microsoft seems to be moving in the right direction. Outside of the games themselves, Microsoft has been positioning themselves as the most customer friendly of the big three. And now they are putting all of their time in resources into creating and supporting talented studios to make great games for xbox (Their one area of greatest weakness). The fruits of their labour should be seen sometime in the near future. This is honestly exciting.
I mean if we look at it from an e...
ok let us think about this for a second.
It was my understanding that most game consoles are sold at a loss. It is the software attach rates and services that dictate the profitability of game consoles.
With that in mind, having your games and services on as many platforms is what is key to the success of game companies. Expanding the audience is important but the method by which one does this is no longer exclusively selling your game box to as many peo...
Thank god for fiber (which i have).
This will obviously not be a possibility for everyone but i am still excited to give it a try.
With the recent ps4/xb1 controller support on the apple tv, and a potential stadia app in the future this could be a pretty cool and convenient method of playing games.
Currently playing around with steam link on my apple tv and it is really awesome. Lots of interesting ways to play.
I would assume that if PS5 has a SSD the next xbox will as well. Xbox seems keen to the idea that they want to have the more powerful console and have really pushed this narrative recently. Microsoft definitely has to money to match anything hardware wise Sony can do so I expect parity at a minimum.
People are rightfully bringing up the necessity to have games for xbox. We will see if some of the studio acquisitions that xbox has made will start to bear fruit although I bel...
I like Sekiro better. The combat just looks and feels better and none of that dodge till you are behind the enemy to attack their ass. The posture system is a breakthrough combat mechanic that I would love to revisit.
I just want to let you know that Google will NOT be breaking into your house to steal your consoles and pc, and leave a chrome cast on your kitchen table.
Just making sure you know that.
Everyones response to game streaming seems to be from the above perspective. It will not succeed if it does not offer a comparable or better experience than when we currently have. PERIOD. How these companies handle the technical challenges ahead will determine its outco...
Play on what ever the fuck I want, where ever I want, with who ever I want. No brainer.
Make sure you sign up for public tests on the stadia website!
If you guys want to give it a go sign up on the stadia website to get first access when public trials become available.
I have fiber. The future is here.
I hear your concern. Regarding the internet thing, I recently upgraded from DSL to Fiber and I am getting 100x faster internet for around the same price. The technical limitations were what really held previous technologies back. I don't think this price gouging will happen to the extent you are saying. It has not happened on my end. Plus competition will force ISP's to adapt.
I would like you to elaborate more on why your think that this transmission method of game...
Ya my vision of the future doesn't compromise the developers preferred input method. I would hope the future would allow you you pair bluetooth controllers instead.
Ya I am going to have to disagree with you on this one.
Purchasing digitally should 100% work on all consoles (within a platform) going forward. This is pro consumer. This is what has been happening in the PC space and it is fantastic. Purchasing once instead of purchasing twice. Thinking that people had to repurchase a game earlier this gen sends chills down my spine. It was so backwards. This is a great trend moving forward.
Additionally, it kind of su...
