Give me Sekiro 2 please. The speed, and the combat is unmatched. Im not interested in slow souls games anymore.
This has been on my mind for some time now. They could really have a gem on their hands if they can make the combat feel amazing. I understand that there are some inherent difficulties associated with first person melee combat, but if they could come up with a solid system that feels engaging that would be great.
Some of the challenges of designing such a system in my opinion are the following.
1) make it feel responsive, both in terms of how the game fee...
Did it say something you don't like?
"And in this exhibit we have an example of a type of individual that REALLY disliked change. Whenever someone tried something new, he would continuously just shit on them. Did he have any good ideas to contribute? None. Thankfully we never took them seriously as we would never make any progress if we did."
"Now on to the next exhibit..."
Is that not one reason a company buys another? If you have weaknesses, but lots of money, you can pay to become more compelling by purchasing companies that can serve to make your offering more compelling.
What? Is the expectation that Microsoft should just sit on their hands with a lacklustre lineup of games and franchises and then eventually fade into oblivion? Should they sit idly?
Sometimes I am just confused in terms of what you actually expected the...
The key word in your comment is "right now".
We have mountain of examples where technologies that are unimpressive initially, eventually dominate their respective industries over time.
The question is just how long this process will take.
This has always been the risk of advancing technology.
Although... I can also think of some positives.
Technology amplifies human creativity and output. It allows people to do more with less.
Imagine what indy teams might be able to achieve. If they could now have access to AI assisted tools enabling them to create games that used to take an army to build, but can now be done with a small team and modest budget.

I set up siblings and friends with years of gamepass. Combining and converting to the Friends & Family variant might actually work in all of our favour. I will have to look into this.
Every major publisher and console maker should have a stake in this company. It is way too important of a studio. This is a studio that will get people to switch consoles to play certain games. That is a rare thing.
I just really wish the gaming public would get to a point where this type of information does not impress us.
Similar marketing speak:
CLAIM: 10x the guns as the previous game!
REALITY: Game lacks proper weapon balance, and instead of a few amazing feeling weapons, most are boring, unimpressive and lack polish.
CLAIM: BiLLions oF cOmbInatiONs!
REALITY: Most combinations are meaningless, and don...
I think at this point, the main focus at CDPR should be to make sure the next gen versions are amazing. Both the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. They really need to build good will again, and at least nailing these next versions will hopefully allow them to slowly repair their reputation.
To me it is just crazy how much good will they had coming out of the Witcher 3, and then to have a reputation at the level or below the likes of EA and Ubisoft, is just mind blowing.
lol.
This is common practice among the game and movie streaming services. Unless it is first party original content, expect an expiry date.
It may still come back in the future.
This guy is prolific.
It's remarkable to see someone pump out amazing games with such frequency.
I know the following comparison is flawed, due the largeness and complexity of the following games. But damn, Skyrim was released in 2011... The fact that we have to wait over a decade for another main line TES game is just ridiculous. And for our wait we will still be getting another "modified" creation engine game. If you make us wait at least ...
Yea this article really opened my eyes to that aspect of the subscription services.
The problem was this: how to increase exposure of games without financially penalizing the gamer if they encounter a few games they did not enjoy. The sub services take care of this.
Plus, you can introduce your non subbed friends to more games because they already passed your quality filter and thus you recommend, generating sales in a group that probably had no intenti...
Yea so it is looking like the main thing he is bringing up is the fact that GP/PS+ can actually lead to a second wind of sales due to more people discovering the game in the first place. These were probably games that they were not interested in paying full retail prices, but once great games are discovered via the subscription, word of mouth can develop to the point where non subscription gamers (the majority of gamers anyways) will pile on with purchases.
I do agree with...
Interesting article.
I never thought about the game discovery aspect and the fact that since GP/PS+ users are a small fraction of the overall gaming community, the subscription users discover games they would not regularly give the time of day. This leads to new gems continuously being rediscovered, becoming popular, and then the non subscription gamers (the vast majority of gamers) will pile onto these games via actual purchases, leading to both higher sales, and a wider ...
Honest question.
Is any criticism of anything playstation immediately considered xbox propaganda?
Or perhaps a secret campaign by undercover xbox agents to exclusively ruin the reputation of Sony?
This is my number one concern.
I can give them a pass for the visuals if the mechanics FEEL GOOD. But gunplay doesn't look compelling.
No weight, impact, responsiveness.
What makes me scratch my head is the fact that they have access to the people at id (doom) and machine games (Wolfenstein) and they still cannot get FPS combat to feel, sound, and look good. It's kind of mind boogling.
good to know.
However I can definitely see the title of this article causing unnecessary unrest in console war land...
