It makes sense given the XBox One in Australia was far better value than the Playstation 4.
Xbox One $599
PS4 $549
Xbox One inlcuded FIFA14 (worth $80) and Kinect (worth $100).
Excluding Kinect, just FIFA14 made it a better proposition. Most people who grab a PS4 and 1 game are up for $629 ($549 + $80) compared to $599 for a Xbox One console with a game for $599.
Both have similiar fees for online, XBL is ...
You could write this exact story and insert the words Infamous Second Son. Again that game is also getting hyped and praised by all as the second coming of christ before anyones actually played it (ie consumers, not websites and special events/dev comments etc)
Wait till its out, play it and if it really ticks all the boxes, word will get out.
Its early days and its good to see Dev's making use of the eSRAM. Dont care whether people say PS4 is more powerful, hardware is nothing without software, and if our devs can make a game perform well, its kudos to them.
Many folks forget the pig that was the Cell processor in PS3. Yet, look at Uncharted and Last of Us. Once you get to know the tech and use it the results were outstanding, despite PS3 not being as graphically capable as the 360.

I cannot wait for Halo 5 or news surrounding it. Love it or hate it, its MS's killer title and I am sure it will be an astounding success.
Console is on shelves here in Australia. Seems its not the hottest thing since sliced bread. Besides, there are far more better games on X1 right now, and global software sales show more games are being sold now on Xbox One versus PS4. Get an Xbox One if you want good games, save the PS4 for rendering images in photoshop.
PS3 played catch up last generation. As far as I am concerned Sony handed over 80 million customers to Microsoft.
Further, its easy to copy your competitors during a generation. The secret to success comes from innovation, not copying what your competitors do. Sure you can make it better, but you're valued more for changing gaming than merely evolving it.
Xbox Live, Achievements, DLC, etc, all came out first on Xbox 360, HD Gaming etc. If you cant...
Why not just make the controller do nothing than be a screen mirror. This way games come out. Making/forcing developers to make use of gamepad adds costs and it cannot be recouped on Wii U. If the game is just a straight port, we may see more titles hit Wii U
And with that, its all sorted. I'm amazed at the sheer number of posts on this article that are SPAM, OFF TOPIC, TROLLING etc.
Pretty pathetic and if you need to justify your console purchase do it somewhere else please. Some of us actually care about a news story affecting our system and dont need the debate between fans to cloud that story.
It's certainly a very bullish comment from Mr Kotick, then again he did say COD would outsell GTAV and never came close. Points for effort I guess. :)
These developers make me laugh with ridiculous statements like this designed to flame bait gamers. Dont fall for it people, every piece of hardware made has a ceiling and it will be reached. All this does is cause friction between gamers and their consoles and makes the developer look like a child.
Here's an idea for a story, show us your new game running and how great it looks and let gamers be the judge of your so called products.
Very true! He has bashed MS continually. Gamers must accept negative news as well as positive. But remember, he is an analyst, so he is always looking at a financial perspective first and foremost.
Normally I'd agree Snake_eater but I dont mind the games in the series and there always adding new ways of playing etc. Sure its getting on now, but perhaps continuing on every 2 or 3 years may be a better approach than every year.
What do you think?
Its going to be the norm this generation. With games growing in size its to be expected that fixes will become larger. I guess our internet speeds didn't make the same jump overnight in terms of speed to match the increase in patch size and updates. And, for us Aussies, don't expect changes any time soon :(
As for Dead Rising 3, the patch was 13GB, but it included DLC packs 3 & 4 so is the 1.3GB you quoted just the game update exclusive of the rest of the conten...
A price cut in my opinion for Wii U is required as its simply not selling.
A price cut for Xbox One is needed but not due to sales (as both XB1 and PS4 are darn close in sales) but would be required to stimulate growth and provide no retail disparity between the consoles. Many argue that Kinect is something they dont want and the main reason for spending $100US less on a PS4. If MS drop the $100 off and both consoles are priced the same, it could certainly have a very pos...
Funny video and if folks cant see the humour it in, something is clearly wrong with you.
I dont care if games are less than 1080p / 60fps on XB1. I enjoy Xbox for a variety of reasons. I dont expect to convince others to join or give up their passion / choices. For me, I love the OS, friends, games, franchises etc. I dont watch TV, or talk a lot to KInect. Its what I like, so I am happy. Many people say its more expensive. In Australia, there was $50 difference. Plus I got FIFA 14 for $80 inside the box and a camera, good value to me. Again, enjoy your purchases and play...
Its good Marketing.
$100 is $100 to many that are not gaming legends or die hard fans. Some may legitimately not care what they get, so $100,brings prices in line and with Kinect its more value with XB1. So, good idea.
Proof will be in regards to how many take up the offer.
I dunno but I know a lot of folks that will like $100 off any console. Just sayin.
FACEPALM!
Just going by the heading, thats all Nintendo ever does!
I'm a massive Gears fan and love it to death, but even I will wait till a final product before even considering calling it superior etc.
Dev's are new and have to prove themselves, Gears franchise needs more now to regenerate it, and with Rod back its got very big potential. But its just that, potential and with that I must reserve judgement till its out.
Cya in 2015 ish I am guessing :)
