It's going to be hard to reach that goal. When No Man's Sky comes out I'll most likely be playing that for the rest of my life. So I will have to dedicate 2 hours per gaming session Playing FFXV and then go back to No Man's Sky. 3 million on XBOX One and 7 million on PS4 should get the job done to 10 million.
The legend remains. Kinda like how the Legend of Dragoon should happen.
My first game memory of PS2: The Bouncer! Lol. Played a crap load of FFXI though.
To me I get to be a space explore in the vast edges of space and am supposed survive exploring the world I start on and find a ship I can upgrade along with equipment to upgrade my multitool and suite. And hop planet to planet in search of new discoveries. That doesn't sound like fun to me. That sounds like work. Work that I can enjoy.
So I guess I need to build myself a freight ship with some support starships as a defense. That freighter will house a store of resources for trade. Meanwhile another stock of my resources will be used to build upon the first planet I run into. Then I will voyage in a spiral pattern to discover more planets.
Saw the trailer for the Ratchet and Clank movies before Zootopia this past Saturday. I noticed they didn't splash 💦 Sony and PlayStation in your face as it was playing. I'm hoping they have some success out of this and the game.
Except not having to deal with Microsoft or office or any of the other strings attached.
Your area correct. The PS4 does do those things. I think PlayStation had incorporated those added items more subtly. But first and foremost made sure there was no shortage of exclusive titles and that games were the priority. I think it wouldn't have mattered if the XBOX One had superior graphics this time around. The difference is slim. What matters is the quality and quantity of titles coming out of their studios.
Yeah don't get me wrong. I got the Vita from my wife last Christmas and I've used it for vita games, remote play with some games in can live without the L2 R2 buttons. The pattern though is even pack to PS One controller it had the L2 and R2. Plus one the original Dualshock came out your had the analog controls. Every game pad after that had the L2 R2 buttons until PSP and Vita. Not big deal for most games but when trying to sneak in some Division time while not on a TV, it's easi...
Right now I think PlayStation's biggest weapon above all their products is their customer's trust. They've got a lot going for them with 40 million userbase in 2 1/2 years. They can pull more in by doing right in VR and then finally pulling in the handheld crowd with a device people are going to want to take with them and have the ease and access to play.
I agree. Playing PS4 games on the big screen will be enough for me. Then as long as the VR games are receptive gameplay wise I will jump into that mix as well. I'm not entirely against using the Dualshock 4 as a moving device as long as it doesn't take away from the gameplay. I'm pretty open minded and flexible with whatever may come.
It's like we shared the same brain at some point.
@rainslacker right I like the idea of remote play on my phone that I sync the Dualshock 4 to. Vita in its current form is crippling with the lack of L2 and R2 buttons.
But this handheld should mimick most of what the PS4 can do only on a smaller mobile scale. Pick up a game on the go where you left off at home. Synced together with your PSN account.
Sony really should make a new Sony PS Vita basically a PS4 to go. With full function controls line the DualShock 4. Any game you purchase though the PS network is downloadable and playable on the handheld device. Like the Dualshock 4 with an LCD screen. Fully rechargeable battery. Complete kit, $299-$399.
With the billions of people in this world, there is a userbase for Standard TV based videogames and a userbase ready for VR, and lastly, a userbase for both.
Off topic: I see the next Playstation being a culmination of everything Sony has to offer now in one package.
1) UHD supported gaming
2) VR ready console (No external processor)
3) Dualshock Vita - this is just a conceptual thought. If Sony wants to take their handheld business seriou...
@miyamoto Right!? I'm probably excited the most about paying games in cinema mode target them a VR Game itself unless No Man's Sky is confirmed for VR then I will truely get lost in that universe. But even the concept of playing The Division on a big virtual screen with 3D sound sounds fantastic!
@Bitbydeath while sounds convenient having a 4K enabled PS4 in the main room and my old PS4 in the bedroom for some primetime gaming but I'm pretty sure the wife would kill me if I told her that it have to but another PS4 lol.
@Death I agree with you on Microsoft combining PC into the gaming community. If cross-platform play gets pushed heavily along with other consoles being able to crossplay with each other despite what you play on I think that would garner healthy competition. Could you imagine pie charts in The Division displaying what platform is having an impact on the Dark Zone the most. Or having a diverse group of platform players taking on missions together.
I will want to see what Micros...
Coming out of left field here but I'm thinking a game like The Division is good because it gives you the power of choice. You can play single player or co-op without offending anyone and I think that's just genius. Granted the narrative may lack but I haven't played an mmorpg that has kept me glued to the story, ever.
Looks very clean and to the point. I home the continue this theme for the entire PlayStation Network especially PS Now. It is undesirably in your face.
