I am sure most people know by now of the RROD fiasco that has plagued the 360 since launch yet with the recent Jasper models released the 360 has gotten much more reliable than the Falcon and Zephyr models before it. So to say that it still has just as much reliability as it did 2-4 years ago is not really a credible statement, the console has been reworked and improved on that front.
As far as the PS3 instruction manual says on page 26 and I quote "Operation of all Playstation format software titles is not guaranteed" and then in the paragraph below "Some Playstation format software may play on this system"
So as far as backward compatibility is concerned SOME PS games can run on the system but even the PSOne library isn't entirely compatible.

This is great news! Now I know Bioware isn't going to be compromising any quality with have 2 DVD's. I'd take a disc swap over a mandatory install any day.
Yes its too bad the 360 doesnt have a blu-ray drive yet PS3 has a 2x blu-ray drive and even with a mandatory install, the load times are still kind of annoying. Booting up Uncharted 2 seems to take forever, On the other hand a 12x DVD drive... not so much.

Well O suppose its just the fact that it is a new system but I just recently purchased Bioshock, and it immediately had to download and install a patch than the game begins to load and I have to wait for a 5 gig install of the game for 15minutes, which is just crazy.
Also I downloaded the Battlefield 1943 demo and started to play it and I have played the Xbox 360 version before, I am running in HD 1080p, with optical audio and there are jaggies everywhere! No anti-aliasing. Same...
I agree. The 360 is a success with or without Japan. The 360 is neck and neck with the PS3 in Europe and the US now, the PS3 is bigger in Japan, is it really a surprise that the 360 isn't? Not to mention, the PS3 gets more games over there than it does in Europe or the US, just like the PS2 and Playstation before it. Its a no-brainer as to why the Japanese favor the PS3 the most.

I was referring to having a positive attitude towards how Mass effect 2 will be. Why would you even think that the graphics would be the same as Dragon Age? There have been videos released and pics and they all obviously look much better than Dragon Age.

With Mass Effect 1 running in standard definition, the technical hiccups were not nearly as bad as running it in 1080p, anyone else notice this?
Bioware developed Dragon Age for the PC primarily so its really no surprise that the 360 and PS3 got the lesser version.
Mass Effect 2 on the other hand is a totally different story, devs have ironed out the technical kinks and have tweaked the engine.

I'm not denying that PC gaming is superior tech-wise, Champ21, but it does require more maintenance and money. I find it much more appealing to concentrate on a game I want rather than if my PC will run it well or not, that thought doesnt even have to enter my head when looking at console games.

I only own a 360 and the reason I got one was for Mass Effect and other titles that interested me and I like the 360 a lot. I dont get consider PC a system just like PS3,360 and Wii because it isn't in the same category. The PC is open, consoles are closed systems. Consoles are relatively cheap, PC's are relatively expensive because PC's are much more than just for gaming. As far as consoles go take L4D2, it can be played on the 360 and PC. The PC stands alone, the 360 is one console amidst 2 others so L4D2 can be considered exclusive to one console only, its not avaialbe on PS3 or Wii.
