Believe me there are much worse comments on different sites. I generally enjoy n4g discussions where I see comments from all type of persons : fanboys, reasonable ones, haters, lovers...
Thats wise! VR was always great and Im happy this generation its ready for mass use. I already bought psvr and its excellent! But you shouldnt consider it like concurent for tv. Its complement. Still majority of time you will play on tv.
On top of that, last update (still in beta) added bluray 3d vr playback. Man its really like if you in IMAX. And best blurays so far are that from IMAX.
TV integration and 4K good, bc good, others are not true or insignificant. Author probably doesn't play on ps4 too much . How the hell did he come to conclusion that you have to manually push saves to cloud? What about racers? First party titles(if we forget magically tons of third party titles:-) ) forza and forza horizon vs drive club...soon gt sport. Really it looks like Microsoft paid article, sorry. But that two points are really good xbox selling value.
Ms is cleverly starting to join pc and xbox market. Because they know, they cant win but only survive. For me, ideal picture of xbox is home multimedia center with lot of pc games, few xbox exclusives, support for home entertainment devices (like home kit control, etc...). They already have uhd bluray, hdmi passthrough, hdmi cec configuration,.... So if they tout more loudly benefits of integrating this uhd bluray player, which can play pc and xbox games....it can be much bigger success than ...
Played whole game on ps4 and only frame rate issues ocurred. Now on ps4pro no problem at all. But of course it should be optimized more on all platforms, I agree.
Only games I paid full price (Here I mean only AAA games with street price of 60 USD) are Doom and Uncharted 4. Both were day 1 for me. Horizon would be If I dont have already plenty of games in my backlog. And lastly, Gt sport will be my other day 1. This gen, for me, is richer in terms of day 1 games. Last gen it was only GT5.
And for me, PS4 has much better exclusive portfolio than PS3 had.
For me motivation for day 1 buy is not strong enough. I think ...

It seems to me, all microsoft is doing is damage control. Maybe things that dont have any sense, but do have big impact on gamers perception of xbox. Maybe Phil will soon give away cakes at bus stations.

I dont agree with some points in article. For example DLCs and not completed games arent console exclusivity. And about hardware and customization? If developer wants, he can make highly optimized engine directly for console. But as we know majority of third party developers dont do that for multiplatform games. But first party titles show what is possible only on consoles - highly optimized game engine written only for one type of hardware.

I compared many games in fullhd and 4k (also native 4k of course) and for me personally its much more important to have full hd with higher frame rate than 4k experience. 4k is nice for detailed environment like uncharted 4 or last of us is. But in rise of the tomb raider there is not so much detail increase visible.

I think microsoft should again consider moving into htpc segment with xbox. It slowly is coming this way by itself. There are few details like you can configure operations through hdmi cec powering on off devices with xbox. Another thing you can fully control xbox with universal remotes, so it is easier to integrate it into entertainent system. And lastly its possible (or will be soon) to install kodi. These are litlle thing, that are slowly moving xbox again to a position as a home media cen...
I totally agree. Its handheld with possibility to play on tv. Why people think its easy to put xbox or ps4 power into handheld? Its pathetic.
I dont think its embarassing. We are talking about handheld device with possibility to play on tv. Its not big console. Yeah ok, everyone wanted new state of the art best of the breed nvidia chipset and voila....its the older one. But in world of handheld devices, that should be ok.

HI, nice post. I agree with most but not about exclusives. But its also my subjective opinion. Im a gamer from my 11. Now Im 36. I had 8bit Atari, then bought myself into pc platform, where I stayed lot of years. Then I complemented it with Nintendo Wii. But big change was made when I bought PS3 - I ended gaming on pc from day to day (but its true, it was hard to learn to play fps games). Then I sold PS3, bought gaming desktop machine (I mean GAMING MACHINE :-) ) and gamineg notebook. Finally...

Xbox is definitely going up. I'm curious how Scorpio will make its position on market . It's overhyped now but ms can't afford silent strategy like Sony :-).
I dont know, why this is some major step up in Pro support. Lot of games have pro support retrospectively, which is more demanding in terms of development then making new game with Pro support. While I believe Cerny's claim about 2% of develompent time on top for Pro can be true for new games, making it retrospectively is more demanding.
And its logical, that developers will showcase new titles on Pro....because it will look better....so it will sell better on all platf...
