Totally agree with Karmic Demon!! Metro2033 was a phenominal game that really brought some interesting gameplay and survival elements into the survival horor/post apocalypse type setting.. REALLY looking forward to getting into Last Light!
I didn't think Crysis 3 was all that bad. The thing is, it just didn't do anything different from a lot of sci-fi FPS games out there, nor did it have compelling multiplayer. When it comes to FPS games these days, If it's not original, or the franchise is becoming stagnant, "hardcore" gamers tend to walk away, and if it's not the newest Call of Shooty the other 80% of gamers ignore it... thus those games don't sell well overall
I couldn't stand Cole Phelps from LA Noire. What a miserable prick he was.
inFAMOUS_KRATOS,
Your name says it all. No one here is taking you seriously, bro.
Time to stop trolling and get busy playing all those Sony exclusives!! there's no time for trolling--you got all the exclusives! Hurry up and go play 'em.. QUICK before another one comes out!! (you don't wanna be backlogged do you?)
"Xbox wont focus on games because they are going to focus on having entertainment apps" -- This has to be the most LUDICROUS argument to troll Microsoft that I've EVER heard! (and you Sony fanboys cook up some real farfetched stuff from time to time)
Here are the shocking facts:
............ Brace yourself.....
Both consoles will have THE SAME entertainment apps and functions, just like they do NOW. Neither console will lose fo...
....
You ARE joking right!?
You must mean GTA V might not SELL as much as Call of Duty does each year right?
There is currently no PC version, and "no plans in the works" for a PC version. Rockstar announced this already
IcicleTrepan..
"man I really wish I didn't have to swap multiple discs for almost every game"
Almost every game??? Seriously? That's a major exaggeration... What game has even come out for Xbox in the last year that was more than one disc? Only one I can think of is Assassins Creed.
The Last of Us - June,
New Splinter Cell - August,
Not as bad as last summers game drought! Plus I still have yet to play the new Tomb raider or Dead Island: Riptide, so my gaming needs are fulfilled for the summer!
"..the single-player will take place in the future but still make use of current technology and weapons due to a "major plot event"."
SPOILER ALERT: The "major plot event" is that the "new" engine for this game never existed! Thus we will use the same technology and weapons from previous CoD games!
haha
(sorry couldn't resist!)
"The characters and plot just weren't engaging enough compared to other games from R*."
I have to disagree here. GTA IV's playable characters, as well as NPC's were all highly developed in terms of their motivation and history in the GTA world. Niko Bellic had a clear cut reason to come to Liberty in the first place (to seek revenge on Ray Bulgarin), and then he learns of his cousin's involvement with loan sharks connected to the Russian mafia leads...
Isn't this old news? We knew about each character when the Game Informer issue came out several months back?
1. If GTA IV had realeased and been just as wacky and campy as the other GTA games, everyone would be like "Boo.. this is more of the same, Rockstar are lazy developers." (because that's what you all say about a game that changes little over several entries)
2. "hardcore gamers" are always talking about how hardcore they are, and they are quick to make fun of "casual gamers" who don't play "deep story driven games". Yet, GTA IV...
@ omi25p
I would have to disagree that Ubi ruined Splinter Cell.. SC:Conviction gets bashed alot around here, but If youre a true splinter cell fan, you likely enjoyed Conviction. It brought a lot of closure to Sam and Grim's story and had a nice little plot twist in the middle. And contrary to what evreyone around here says it WAS a STEALTH based game, with the exception of 1 or 2 deliberately scripted action sequences, where you are forced into duck-and-cover gunfights. ...
Wtf is the problem around here.. why cant anyone who enjoys their Playstation just be rational and open minded???????????
I hope the MS conference at least lets us know the hardware specs and shows some games running on the system. I don't care what the actual console looks like. (imo, both consoles this generation were pretty ugly.. the 360 looks like an alien VCR from a sci-fi 80's movie, and the ps3 looked like a pregnant ps2)
yea, that's what I'm worried about. Not that I wouldn't love two weeks of vacation anyway, but I want to spend those two weeks immersed in the newest entry of my all-time favorite game franchise.
I took a week off when GTA4 released, but I haven't taken a vacation specifically to play a videogame since Battlefield 3 came out lol!
I'm serously considering taking a full two weeks of paid vacation from work when this releases, JUST to sit around in my sweatpants playing the hell out of GTA V!!
I'm not putting the request into my boss until August though, because I remember how many times GTA4 got delayed!
lopez_josue,
As far as FPS games go, BF3 is hardly "nothing but shooting".. not even close, unless you're exclusively playing the Close Quarters expansion maps.
A skilled BF3 player can rack up 5000-7000 points in a match, and only achieve 5 kills or less. Battlefield is all about tactics and teamwork.. cap the objectives, re-supply/revive teammates, spot enemy poitions, provide vehicle support/transport, etc.
Also I'm...
@ king elixir,
I don't think any serious BF3 players would ever try to "convert" a serious CoD player. The two different styles of play are so completely different, and they don't translate across the two games. Your either a team-playing thinker or a lone-wolf shooter.
Either way, you are correct. Everyone should just enjoy what they like and not worry about the other guy.
I personaly prefer BF3, but I can find the fu...
I think a 3/10 for Dead Island Riptide is pretty harsh though. I am playing it right now, and While it is an absolute cut and paste from the first Game, it doesn't deserve a 3/10! It is definitley buggy here...a little glitchy there... and overall feels just like the previous Dead Island game with new weapons, a new environment, and new vehichles.
Somewhere else i Think it got like a 6.5/10, which is fair.. to me, I'm enjoying the hell out of it, so it's a per...
