such great news for the vita and ragnarok odyssey, it was a day one purchase for me and I've poured so many hours into it, and it's always a joy to boot it up and go on quests with others. It's well done and effortless. Let's hope for a sequel and more JRPGs...I hope PSO2 will come sooner than later.
Shining Force in its classic strategy format! More HD releases of Sega classics...a new Panzer Dragoon Saga/RPG.
I'd love to see a sequel to Burning Rangers.
Probably the only game I'd buy a 3ds for and just like the comment above, I'd get an XL but don't wanna pay that much for it. Fire emblem just gives me that old school shining force feeling 'cause it seems well executed and the animation and battles are nice to look at. Anybody wanna fork over a 3DS for free? lol
I jump at every occasion to see how to this game is turning out to be, so far, I get the impression that'll be a story driven cyberpunk type of action game with twists and turns.
It's nice to see that there'll be some open areas for some exploration, linear is nice but opening up the world gives it more credibility (here's to hoping). Can't wait to hear more details on this anticipated title.
It is a savior in some ways since it was such a noteworthy collaboration between two big studios and this title had been in the headlines since its creation.
It's one of the major JPRG's that's been talked about the most and has received a lot of positive reviews.
The genre doesn't need saving but it needs quality titles that appeal to a large audience, therefore selling a lot copies and keeping JPRG's relevant to the US/EU market.
Publishers aren...
anybody else finds the stab/slit to the groin a lil' "painful" to watch? lol
Other than that, that title is packing a major punch (to the balls), graphically and gameplay wise. Yet another solid title that lands itself on a pretty sweet Vita line up for 2013...and we're far off from the amazing reveals that await us.
(Ok, now back to NG sigma plus)
I agree with above, pass, if it were some subsidiary company doing it (and I hope it is) I wouldn't mind one bit, and while I know very little about this brain training game, I'd rather see a full blown game developed like SCEJ know how to make'em.
Not sure that's what the vita needs at the moment.
Gotta love Xseed for bringing over Japanese games that wouldn't see the light of day on our US/EU shores. And, from what I hear, they are a small team. Way to go! They have translated/brought over many enjoyable titles.
Dragon Force is in a league of its own. To play it is to understand it.
I'm equally baffled, the titles we just mentioned are sold in the hundreds for a new copy, except for PD saga that's worth more than a couple hundreds new or used...baffled as frack!
I LOVED Dragon Force, I also used to play it for hours. It definitely deepened my love for JRPGs. The Saturn had such a great line up. This game was probably third best, behind shining force 3 and Panzer Dragoon Saga.
It's nice to see such appreciation for the Saturn era games, if only Sega could get through their thick skulls that some of these gems belong on PSN/XBLA even without an HD face lift.
Gamers should unite to vote for re-release of these games.
Well, it is rather inconvenient, and it seems to have happened multiple times, good thing it's being reported before launch so that developers can create a patch for it. Hopefully that feedback makes it there on time, otherwise, it's easy to avoid losing your saved file by completing the quest then saving after, or completely avoid it altogether til it's fixed ( if that's possible, I'm not a member of the press so I don't have an early copy).
Le joeur du grenier, if you understand french, is excellent, great humor, good production value and I like Cr1tical (penguinz0) for his sensual deep voice and his irreverence toward gaming by putting up vids of awful free to play games, lol.
A .Hack//Gu HD collection please :)
I had no idea it was being ported to the Vita, great news indeed! Now, how about about Code of princess? (From the makers of guardian heroes)
Yet another option to watch movies on PS3 and not have to pay a hefty amount for cable. Hulu, vudu, netflix, amazon and now Epix at $7, not sure cable companies can beat that.
I love your list! Great classics.
SHINING FORCE
PANZER DRAGOON (especially that magnificent RPG)
DRAGON FORCE
NIGHTS into dreams
PHANTASY STAR: Online
SHENMUE
JET SET RADIO
POWER-STONE
STREETS OF RAGE
GOLDEN AXE
Gravity rush feels a lot like Infamous, while they have two distinct types of gameplay, they're both new IPs and they have an open world feel to them. I'd love to see GR do what infamous did for the ps3, we definitely need a GR2 and I agree with all the suggestions in the article. I couldn't get enough of Infamous 1 when it came out, same with GR, and once infamous 2 came out, there was plenty to do!! GR2 should take the same path.
I'd like to think that games should be priced based on the cost of development and fair pricing that allows developers to make a profit out of every sale (they have to make sequels and other games with that money) without mercilessly savaging our wallets.
Honestly, I'd be interested to know as to how much a game developer would price his/her own game as opposed to the corporation that's publishing it. I'd also like to know how they come up with their pricing.
