How could I forget dead space and Silent hill, or even fear (Alma!)?
Good list!
What about that Japanese game, Fatal frame?
My 5 would be:
-RE4 (el lago, yikes!)
-The last of Us
-Shadow of the Colossus (some colossi, and environments are just trippy to me)
-Far Cry 3 ( I have thalassaphobia, fear of anything under the ocean, and shark attacks are scary as all hell).
-Bioshock 1 (again, under the ocean).
Honorable mentions: Demon Souls and Dark Souls...lol, I'm a wuss!
is the 3ds unable to emulate super famicom (SNES) games?
I'd love to have this on my 3ds.
It all started with the Sega master system and I'm pretty certain it'll end when I can longer move, hear, or see.
I dread the day where my senses fail me and I can no longer enjoy gaming like I do today.
It's quirky at best, and kinda funny.
Also can be seen as a metaphor, you'll be frozen/stuck in the same position for hours like a statue while playing our awesome games? lol
This cartoon has a kick ass soundtrack and an excellent plot, they don't make'em like this anymore.
lol, I was just gonna post: make an irrational rant about the current state of gaming by adding inflammatory words on twitter.
I concur, I've been playing it nonstop! They truly managed the RPG element quite well and the increasing difficulty as you level up.
Off topic: Stevehyphen, you're one of my psn buds! Think we added each other via Toro's friend network, haha. Small cyber world.
The fact that this game, a final fantasy title nonetheless, hasn't seen a release out of Japan tells you quite a bit about the state of affairs at Squeenix.
I suppose they feared the piracy that plagues the PSP, but releasing on two platforms (psp/psvita) could've covered the cost plus benefits.
Yes...next!
I think the game stands on its own legs in terms of gameplay animation and technical innovations, but I sense a blend of SF4 mixed with Naruto, could be just me though.
LOL, it's like they're saying: "go on gamers, the first few hours is on us!"
I think it comes with the "Kinect fit sports extreme" title as a free weight, guess calories won't be the only thing that'll be burning.
DARN IT Sega! Time to localize some shining force games!
We haven't seen one localized since the ps2 days and those were action rpgs and not what shining force is all about, tactical strategy and great power struggle plots.
I have been able to see some gameplay and the retail prices for both ps3 titles aren't too bad, but a language barrier is too big of an obstacle for me to get into it, even with the English guides.
It's a damn shame bc those games truly are what I love to play, S-JPRGs with a nice lay out and fun gameplay.
I also read that it's text heavy, so yet another hurdle. ;(
I get completely desensitized about big muscles and big boobs as video games media and other medias throw that in my face constantly.
As for reviewing a game, it boils down to the gameplay and while the aesthetics can also be a factor, I don't get bogged down by over-sexualized males and females, it's nice to look at but eventually you move on and have fun it it's a solid game.
I am currently playing Odin's sphere (not as in your face, if you wanna call it th...
It needed an SF4 style make over. I played the games on my Saturn and they looked just as well as the ports found on PSN.
can we petition to bring these games to the US/EU?
They look great, like Strategy JRPGs are supposed to be.
Very reminiscent of Shining Force.
Does anyone know if any of these have been translated?
I'm dying to purchase them but I don't know Japanese.
You said it well, I have so many games sitting in their case and all I'm missing is the time to play them, and some require a good chunk of time.
Sometimes, I'll even revert to something casual bc I need my gaming fix and I just can't put two hours in a quality RPG.
Owning a psvita and 3ds surely makes it easier to game.
Sega could do right by gamers if only they re-released their former gems in HD or even those hard to find items that cost an arm and a leg on ebay and the likes.
Think smart Sega...it's heartbreaking to see what they've become.
